scotts doesn't hire smokers right? not that I care, because I don't smoke but for anyone that does. they wont hire you.

dude from a few other forums.
never met him but he was racing wera and blowing everyone away. until he had a nasty crash last summer.
this pic was taken at Deals Gap.
-
crank position sensors will do that too but not always set off a trouble code..personal experience on a gmc sonoma aka, s/10.

wouldn't a "heavier load" be considered a "faster speed" ?
I don't use heavy oil in a water cooled bike that is on the street the most. the reason is the thicker it is the longer it takes to start flowing at startup.
air cooled engines have always (from what I've seen) call for 20w oils. my guess is because they get a lot of hot spots in the motor that a thinner oil might burn off from.
and it's said almost 90% of engine wear comes from startup.

oil level light?? come on!!!!! its always a pressure light isnt it???
nope. but you will need to read your owners manual for your bike. like I said, Yamaha's is a oil level light only.
-
street 10w40 is plenty.
track it's still enough but 20w might be better instead.
there is a cross reference chart floating around the internet for motocycle filters. it shows you what bikes use the same filters and what filters fit your bike etc.
from that I started using a Purolator PureONE filter that fits a mazda miata.
or you could take yours to the store and find one that is a close match and try it.
I chose a pure one filter because they are supposed to be the best oil filter on the market. (top ranked in ASE testing)
and have a 99.9% efficiency rating @ 20 microns. (that's smaller than a red blood cell!)

what is the code for the ses? I might be able to help you find the problem.
there isn't much to the emissions to these trucks. if it's anything to do with a "evap" leak replace the gas cap first. this is a well known problem with the s/10.
-
still my favorite interiors of all the s/10's. I have a 02.
if I didn't have mine and it wasn't yellow....

I'd like to remind everyone, you cannot go using someone elses setup and think that is going to work for you. this is why so many guys have it way off.
if you don't know what you are adjusting and what it affects, let someone that does do it for you. without the right understanding you aren't going to get it right.
if you want a good visual of the suspension setup watch this video

If it was a V-max I'd be more worried when the dam light wasn't on! LOL I went through more YAMA tecks trying to understand why they would put the oil sensor in the front of the pan so that everytime you got on it heavy the oil level light came on. The best was when Competition Accessories told me the way to resolve the problem was to run 20W50 so it wouldn't "slosh" around so much. They were smoking way too many illegal drugs and drinking on the job!
my R6 owners manual says it's normal if it comes on during hard acceleration or up hills.
it never does for me though. I keep it up to the top of the marks on the dipstick.

^ I don't know about that statement. my moms camaro z28 has 244k miles on it and has always had valvoline oil and a fram filter on it.
I also heard the ninja's are really goofy with the oil pressure not building up because of air trapped in it's filter or some crap like that.
that's a odd problem to have.
-
as impressive as that is, it still isn't as impressive as a pickup truck with a V6 running a 9.03 he has a website. www.dochoover.com
-
I didn't see ayone say it already but I'm pretty sure the oil light is for the level not pressure.
I know for a fact yamaha's are level only.
-
I fixed it for him.
his tripple clamp was actually stripped out.
I had to go to the next sized up bolt and tap the hole. thank god we have a great hardware store around here.

Anyone install or know someone who does patio's?
Looking for an idea off cost of a 10'x20' poured concrete one.
edited, you live too far away.
but if you did live around cincinnati we have a guy that does all of our patios/concrete work for Patio Enclosures and also Champion patio rooms. his name is Mike Rebholtz.
and does some of the best concrete work I've ever seen.
we are talking about pouring slabs somtimes 30X30 perfectly level all the way through.

i'm going to sit back and relax as our dear leader, "The Pay Czar" comes to sit upon his god given throne. long live "The Pay Czar"!
funny that the republicans ran up such a deficit (how much of a surplus did they spend again???) but they point fingers at ideas of Obama's.
and decided it was a great idea to give out so many tax breaks. but now it's not??? wow talk about being hypocrites!
but now when it's time to pay the piper for their bad ideas and policies...who gets the bad rap???? yeah...blame the new guy. easy way out...the republican way:rolleyes:
there is a lot of hypocritial finger pointing going on these days. and why not, now they have a chance to take away the attention from them.
all while everyone seems to have forgotten about the messes they left behind.
I even heard on NPR yesterday that Bush intentionally left the GM bailout to the next president. couldn't take yet another hit could he??? haha.
but this mess is what american's deserve for voting for a party that has never had a balanced budget or a surplus of any kind. maybe people are finally waking up.

what's your point? i'm not being an ass, i just don't understand what your getting at. 1 missing bolt isn't that bad? or i could be alot worse off?
I'm just telling a story about a friends bike. as he doesn't look at things very closely. and this is what I found wrong with his bike in about 3 min of looking at it.
he was riding it around with no bolt holding the one fork on. you just had the handle bar one gone. which is dangerous, but not as dangerous as the fork being loose.
-
ehh my buddies 04 R6 was missing the upper tripple clamp pinch bolt (only has one anyway) and the other bolt for the clip on was 1/2 way out.
the chain you can pull off the rear sprocket without taking the wheel off. it's worn that bad. you can move the links around it's worn that bad (did erv2 chain)
and he was riding around with 25 psi in his tires.

$16,500:rolleyes: does it massage the tools at night too?
-
brake pads make the biggest most noticable difference in braking power.
next would be lines.
goodridge has kits for building your own lines too.
my brother just swapped out his stock FZ6 master cylinder for one from a R6 and he said it's night and day difference.
-
well then I stand corrected.
but if they did buy out 5/3, I would just switch to a local bank.
I just don't want any part of those super big banks. they tend to screw customers with bad deals on loans and high interest rates on credit cards.
5/3 trys to sucker me in to their crappy credit card offers all the time and I just don't want any part of it. they have way too many "clauses" in their agreements that allow them to triple and quadruple the interest rates at their whim.
the ONLYreason I went with 5/3 is because back in the day before debit cards they had the most atm machines and the longest hours with locations in kroger. and being open at these locations on sunday too.
and now I stay with them because it's a pain in the ass to switch all of this crap around. I have my account numbers and card numbers memorized.

You honestly think the 2CT cannot be ridden aggressively? Seriously?
oh it can. it's just not the best there is anymore. they need to step up the game when companies like avon and continental are beating them in tests.
Michelin isn't all that. I know you love them but they are not the only tire company that makes phenomenal tires.
I just get tired of hearing newbie riders talking up the 2ct like it's the best thing out there when it isn't by a long shot. especially when it cost on average $50-60 a set more than a tire that is better. they need to stfu and remember the saying "the best you've ridden is the best you know".
-
2 cts are the best street tire you can buy
not even close:rolleyes:
hell I seen a test where a continetal sport attack out paced them at a track by almost 2 full secs. the bt-016 out paced both.
I've ridden the 2ct and the bt002rs and think the 002rs feels and performs better. it's more a track tire than a street tire for one. I belive they are equivelent to a hard compound race tire from what my memory serves me from a article I read.
here's where bridgestone rates the tires,

hummm us bank, a bank that needed bailout money..pass

you guys should check out 227 at the end of 22. it takes you into stamping ground almost to georgetown.
it's not for beginers though.
I like it but a few other guys I ride with don't because it's full of blind fast tight corners.
and its so long. it makes all the other roads around seem short and straight.
it's guaranteed to make even the fast riders slow down.
ride it at your own risk LOL
