  1. Are you sure that was a monthly quote or for a whole year? I did the same thing at first when I got my 600RR, but then realized it was $234 for the entire year. That's with full coverage and a $500 deductible (think I'm going to lower it now that I think about it) Progressive quoted me at $1500...

That's with a perfect driving record and I was only 24 at the time.

not a quote, it's what I've been paying for a few years. it started out @ $110.

  2. i have seen this kid without a cig for a few hours......... i dont want him to stop smoking

it's hilarious to observe someone that is craving a cig..they get all kinds of pissy like a chick on the rag.

then it makes you realize what kind of hold they have on some people.

it's as bad as a crack addiction

  3. Great outlook on the whole idea.... There has to be a balance to the power, who do you want to test it and have it, the idiots and cynical tyrants or the more stable countries that will use those weapons to maintain order, not create chaos.

why do you feel it's ok for anyone to tell someone else they can't have something?

does N.Korea go to the un bitching you are allowed to own assault riffles and are going to impose sanctions on the usa until you are not allowed to own one?

what gives us or anyone the right to say a country cannot have any kind of weapons they want especially when ourselves have them. what guarantee does N.Korea have we are not planning on using our nukes on them?

it's easy to make simple judgments based on one side of the argument....

  4. progressive gave me the absolute lowest price around with $95 a year liability.

if you have health insurance already you can drop that from your bike insurance and save a lot of money.

and deal directly with the insurance company. agents get a cut of your policy premium. you may be paying more for the agent than the insurance.

  5. I hate firefox. it never works right for me, ever. v2 worked but the new one sucks worse than IE4.

the new IE8 is working very good for me. and has a bunch of pretty neat new features. and seems much faster than firefox and IE7.

I also cant stand the way firefox or any linux programs are layed out and work. such as the menu's etc. they are like shit from the early 90's.

  6. n korea is like the child that does anything for attention. they offer nothing to the world economy etc, so they do shit like this.

what's the big deal anyway? we have rockets and missles we launch all the damn time.

we also have some of the most deadly weapons in the world...why should we tell anyone else they cannot?

    americans are huge hypocrites.

  7. thanks alot guys for all the input and offers to help me out, so far i talked to rueben at 35motorsports and he does have an 06 engine with 900 miles on it wants 1500 for it and 350 to swap my motor and instal that one not bad price. but its gonna be really hard to come up with that kinda loot..but he was the first to call he sounds like a great guy and knows his stuff..and by you all recomending him thats a bonus..if i cant find something local and cheaper then i guess rueben will be my go to guy. just wish he wasnt 2.5 hours away..

just don't let him work on your suspension....I know someone with a horrible experience..

I won't go into details but put it this way, it was a major waste of money and time....and now he is out of a brand new shock....

  8. run it through the tank of gas, and if it still happens on the next tank, worry about it more.

it will happen again. like I said. he isn't the only person to have experienced the problem. even mine has done it a few times. the first time mine did it was in 2006. it didn't happen again until last summer.

and it won't always do it every time. I've been around so many R6 forums since I bought mine in 03 to know.

  9. So I bought some (fucking expensive ass) oil today called Spectro Golden 4. I went to the only dealer I could get to before closing time, which isn't the one from which I bought my bike. They recommended it... It a semi-synthetic blend, what is it? is it good? at $10.50/liter is it going to leave my cylinder walls lined with gold? anyone hear of it?[/quote\\

does your ass hurt- could have got rotella for 16 for a gallon bro- call the rape crisis hotline

all the blackstone lab results I've seen from bikes using that oil show high levels of wear. one flat out told the guy he has major piston scuffing.

that oil is made for vehicles that idle most of their lives and rarely hit over 3k rpm. not for motorcycles that can rev to 16k rpm.

not all oils are the same. it would be like saying you can use white lithium grease in disk brake wheel bearings...and that is a huge no no.

  10. Actually, the price isn't all that high for premium motorcycle oil. I listed these Iron Pony prices from last year (all JASO MA). I would run any of these in my bike. I would not run the non-synthetics in a high compression high revving bike. A synthetic or synthetic blend would be better for that.

    Castrol R4 SuperBike 5W40 10.75

    Mobil 1 Racing 4T 12.59

    Castrol GPS 7.50

    Honda HP4 w/o Moly 7.29

    Castrol Actevo 4T 4.25 (17.25 gallon)

    Honda GN4 4.49 (13.99 gallon)

    Spectro Golden 4 9.20 (34.99 gallon)

    Repsol 4T Racing 9.99 (24.99 gallon)

do they still have the repsol racing for $9.99? It usually goes for $13.

I used to be able to get the repsol sintetico (semi synthetic) for $5 a quart.

but someone bought the shop and raised the prices..:(

I was going to switch (very reluctantly) to Mobil's motorcycle oil you can get from auto parts stores. it's still $10 a quart.

  11. Well not good, we tore her down changed oil, checked air filter cleaned underneeth cant find where it did those few leak spots. hasnt leaked since then we took it on a test run about 5-10 miles and 14k rpm and up spewed out thick white and lil blue tint smoke and i mean so bad i could see it clear as day in the rearview mirror. my buddy was following behind me and said it wasnt good. Got her back let her sit bout 30 min check the oil and there was nothing on the dipstick. so i pbrought her home parked her in the back of the garage and i guess im done for the season casue on the quotes ive gotten from different places and from what people are telling me, piston rings, head gasket vavles who knows is gonna cost way more than i have. ive put every last dollar ive had in this bike from down payment to oil, and other parts, so ill still hang around the forums but wont be able to go ridin with any of yall. seems all the local "trustworthy dealerships" are too busy anyway and said with my problems there is no way they can fit me in this season even if i had the $$...

there are plenty of reputable shops in cincinnati.

I used to recommend holeshot motorsports because there was a Yamaha certified mechanic working there, but I think they went out of business.

I also know a guy that is a mechanic for kings dodge and has a 06 too. maybe he or I could help you out also.

  12. That gas went bad months ago !! !

And if your bike is warmed up first you can bounce it off the limiter ??

I always think it is better to break them in at high RPM's after the first thousand miles or so anyways !!

I'm not giving advise only expressing my beliefs !! hahahahahaha

I know breaking in a engine can be a heated debate. I just bought a new engine for my truck. it came with a booklet and a chapter about breaking in the engine.

it said to let the engine run at a fast idle until it comes up to normal operating temp. then let it cool off completely for at least 3 hours.

take vehicle up to 55mph then let it engine brake and slow the vehicle down to about 20mph. repeat this procedure 10 times.

then the engine is broken in and drive normally.

I've never heard of this procedure before.

I would def never do the break in from mototuneusa that says to basically beat the snot out of it from mile one to get the most life of the engine. I've emailed 5 powertrain companies such as Jasper and none of them recommended me to use his procedure.

**** this is the link to the bad advise site, that is avised to not use it's procedure*****

    http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

  13. i know man it does i mean it took 2 weeks jsut to fix the fork seals that where busted god knows what it would cost and how long id be out the bike if something internal was bad, on a side note the bike does not ever have any smoke coming from it when its idleing its only when i get on it hard...if that makes any differance no sputtering or back fireing and the bike doesnt leak anything oil hasnt changed color my buddy seems to think im worriing too much but from what you guys have said and what i have read on the net it is something to worry about..

if it needed fork seals already, I bet the first owner liked to do wheelies. and if done long enough wheelies a lot of times, I bet the engine was starved of oil on the cylinders and it's now burning oil.

check the plugs to confirm it.

  14. Serpent, I am going through this with my four year old daughter. She is having trouble with the whole Hollywood make believe thing, feel free to pm me and I'll go through it with you if needed:p

movies of modern real life events....should try to not become make believe.

hell, even star wars (which is total make believe on purpose) try to keep it real.

when I see things like tires squealing on dirt in a movie it just spews cheap moving making to me. if that scene hinges on the noise from the tires, it was written, produced, directed by morons.

if I want to see make believe movies, I would watch childrens cartoons. I don't want to be subjected to "entertainment for children" if I'm watching an adult movie.

now seeing a car chase and hearing a tire squeal even if the car happens to be in a little dirt or something is one thing, to blatantly expect me to be entertained by poor movie making such as a car that is already moving do a wheelie all the while it's driving on the dirt, is absurd and asinine.

it doesn't go with the movie in other words. if the movie was obviously make believe (so to say) then that would make sense in the movie. but we are talking about events of real life. it's not the same if they ramped a car and kept driving. even though we all know that can't happen.

but a car doing a rolling wheelie on a dirt road? that's idiotic and disrespectful to everyones intelligence in my opinion.

that's why I don't go see movies such as this. it's supporting the ignorance.

  15. hoblick if you hook up the crankcase breather hose to the ais(air injection system) to suck air from the crankcase this is supposed to "free up" some hp. you will find a system similar to this on many race cars.

they even run vacuum pumps to scavenge air from the crankcase.

for everyone else, the ais system on a yamaha sucks air from the airbox straight into the exhaust port to clean up some emissions.

it can be removed, or it can be made into a crankcase scavenge port to suck air from the crankcase, in theory, this will suck pressure out of the crankcase allowing the moving parts no pressure resistance. I've also heard it will aid in the sealing of the piston rings too.

you can find this same principal on many cars on the track.

think of it as a very strong pcv (positive crankcase ventilation) system.

  16. man, there is tons of riding around here, we will show you!

and yes, if mcaully is what im thinking of, i love that little 200yard run

man you guys need to get away from those. those are not riding roads.

riding roads are the ones you can go for at least 10 miles and has more curves than straights. (south of the boarder, KY) just don't piss off the residents so they quit calling the Kentucky state police.
