few things to consider with that. street plastics always cost more to paint. since they're in a lot of pieces once unmounted from the bike. so the painter will have more time setting them up etc. what kind of a paint job do you need for a race bike. anyone that knows how to paint can do a cheap paint job and have it turn out so good you'd be wetting your pants with excitement. will it be something chip foose would approve? probably not. but 99% of your buddies would give it a thumbs up. last but not least a good set of track plastics are way easier to prep than a shitty set like hotbodies or something. so a quick sand on a good set is all that's needed 99% of the time. a set of hotbodies almost always needs some more body filler work to be good enough to paint. (I hate painting cheap bodywork) I lose my ass on it because of the prep work is always double the time. plus it likes to spider crack around all openings when you handle them. (cheap resin) and it shows up in the paint. there are a bunch of guys on the net that paint stuff for racers. $300 for single color $395 for 3 colors. not outrageious considering the paint prices will run him about $100. when I buy a quart for my bike it's about $57 the reducer for it is about $16 a gallon. the clear is $29 a quart and the hardener for the clear is $15 for 8 ounces. as you can see it adds up really quick. and that's cheap stuff.

4-5 track days at a medium pace and they have that much tread left? holy shit dude I can tear up a set in one track day. well not totally but they're only good for a 1k miles on the street after that one day. I might have to try a set of these if they last that long.

$400 just for the vinyl. that's not cheaper than a paint job. you still need to apply it yourself. you'll probably have to pay someone $200 to install it properly. I'm just going by what guys on other forms have paid and been told by places that do it. they've all been told a motorcycle is very time consuming so the installation is very high.

usually the 3 things you must safety wire is the oil drain plug, the oil fill plug and the oil filter. the filter you can wrap with a hose clamp and safety wire it to something. or if the screw part will rest against something to keep if from turning that's good enough. don't forget to bring food, water, drinks, something for shade, chairs, and tools. adjust chain to proper specs tires have to be in decent shape mirrors off tape up lights (I also pull the light's fuses) gear: over the wrist gloves over the ankle boots leathers 1 or 2 pc with full circumference zipper or aerostitch like suits are often ok too. dot/snell helmet that isn't past the expiration date (older than like 5-7 years).

it's so hard to wrap a bike you'll pay the same price as quality paint job. plus the wrap can't handle the engine heat I heard

from everything I've read about li batteries cannot be properly charged with the stock charging system. that's why I wouldn't buy one.

brandon. do you guys have a dyno? that's a good money making machine. it might be a big initial investment but people are always asking about one. I have no clue who does any dyno testing in the cincy area.

the glazing on the rotors is usually what causes it. the pad hits it and rubs the caliper and squeaks.

they don't because they realized there is no market for it. how many sets of pads do you wear out? probably a set every few years? it's cheaper for them to just order it. the service side is probably your biggest money maker like every other shop. heck the guy down at bike bolts has a warehouse full of bikes it looks like that needs something worked on. he has practically nothing in the form of things to buy.

too small of a niche to be honest. you'd probably have more sales selling shinko tires to the masses than a few guys that are into racing stopping in for little shit. racers are probably the worst customers. they know everything (or so they like to think ) and do all the wrenching themselves. sell harley shit and I bet your business would pick up 40%

tire psi is something everyone should check before every ride. I'm guilty of not doing it sometimes.

well ok then. 42 it is. lol sounds reasonable but I've never used that much. but I run super aggressive tires that don't need 42psi. but they also only last 2500-3000 miles.

what does your bike's sticker say? or the owners manual? 42 to me is a hell of a lot. I usually do like 32- 34 for aggressive riding.

if it is losing air try replacing the internal part of the valve stem. you can buy them at autozone and the little tool to screw it in. it's very easy and inexpensive. you're looking at maybe $5.

not my bike so I don't know. I think I recall the guy said that's why he pulled over and found the chunks coming off. I know defects happen but I posted that pic to be a smart ass.
