  1. At this point I'm still planning on making it.
  2. Also a great option. I was totally sold on a set of Dainese leathers until I got a ridiculous deal on some closeout Alpinestars.
  3. Like the ones that trailer their bikes everywhere....?
  4. I've had really good luck with A*'s gear over the years, including (unfortunately) crash testing some of it, and have usually been impressed. Some of their cheaper gear isn't as well made as I would have liked, but the mid-range stuff is good and the high-end is fantastic. Rider's Discount can also get you smoking deals on any of the Alpinestars gear. I don't have any personal experience with Joe Rocket, but I've heard they make pretty good stuff.
  5. I might be able to make this. It's also short/close enough that I'll probably try to ride the 916
  6. Yeah, I doubt that I would ride the actual gap that often as I've heard the same thing from many others. Looking forward to getting to know the general area though
  7. Hopefully I'll be able to let you know what that's like later this year
  8. They dyno tuned my old 600RR a couple years ago and did a great job. That thing ran perfectly.
  9. Awesome, Doc. I'm glad you guys had a good trip. I can't wait to get down there myself later this year
  10. Thanks for the kind words, everyone - I'm really going to miss the riding community here. It's looking like I'll probably be making the full transition by the middle of September, so hopefully I'll be able to make a few more rides between now and then. In the mean time, I've got to get some stuff done on my house to get it ready to sell. If you know of anyone looking for a place in Green, let me know - I'm going to be a pretty motivated seller
  11. I like kittens. I also like boobs. Now I find that I like kittens + boobs. Sometimes math is fun.
  12. We're looking at Mt. Juliet as the primary area at the moment for proximity to work and family. That it's on the right side of town relative to the mountains doesn't hurt either...
  13. Likewise, Tony. Some of the best rides I've had were chasing you and Dave all over SE Ohio and WV, and I have learned as a rider from both of you immeasurably.
  14. Well, after nearly 9 years in Ohio it looks like I will be moving back to my home state of Tennessee. I found a great opportunity at our corporate office in Nashville and signed the paperwork today. I don't have any firm idea about timing, but it will probably be a gradual transition ending with me being down there full time by the end of the summer. I'm looking forward to being closer to some family, and being <200 miles from the start of the Cherohala and other great roads in the mountains. Years ago, I never thought I would say this, but I'm really going to miss the riding in Ohio. Mostly because so many of you are such great people and I've genuinely enjoyed meeting everyone and having had the chance to go on so many fantastic group rides over the years. I've also come to know and enjoy many of the SE Ohio roads and will greatly miss that familiarity. It's going to be a hectic summer, but hopefully I'll be able to work in a few more group rides before I make the move. OR is a great community and has really helped me evolve as a motorcyclist, both in understanding what I want out of my hobby, and of the kinds of people that I want to find and surround myself with, and you all have my genuine thanks for that. I plan on trying to stay as active as possible on the forum, and hope to be able to still get involved in rides down towards TN (especially Gap trips). If any of you find yourselves in the Nashville area and want to catch up or grab a drink, just shoot me a PM. I'll always consider myself part of the OR family no matter where I live. Speed Safely, - Will
  15. I've ridden with this combo on the street for several years, and it has worked very well, including a ~40 mph lowside that I walked away from without a scratch. This is a great price for the set. GLWS!
  16. It's a 2010 Limited Edition. There's nothing really special about it other than the Rossi graphics, but I absolutely love it as I'm a Rossi fan. You can still find them new at dealerships.
  17. Here's a shot of what would probably have been a pretty cool video: And here's what my rear tire looked like when I finally got home: I actually do have some video of myself, Fiji, and ZxHooligan heading back. I'll work on it this week and hopefully have something up soon.
  18. By the way, I don't think I ever thanked you for leading the NEO folks down, so thanks! I had a blast chasing you and Dave. Hopefully we can do it again sometime.
  19. I thought I had some video from OH-78 that would have been pretty good, but apparently my GoPro was just taking photos. By the time I figured it out most of the good riding was behind us.
  20. Back after ~450 miles and some good riding. Glad to meet everyone and hopefully the folks that had some issues are all ok and made it home safely.
  21. Ride safe, we'll see you in Coshocton.
  22. It's nice to get up early for something I want to do for a change See you guys in a few.
  23. 2010 R1 Rossi Edition is what I'll be on.
  24. Bike's ready to go, route is written in tankbag form and new gear even came today.
  25. Back in Ohio and can't wait for tomorrow. I'll see you gents in Coshocton in the Am.
