  1. Aren't you the chief offender for this?
  2. Believe me, as long as I can get out of Miami and back into Akron tomorrow I will be there.
  3. Whatever you do don't buy an R1. Only gigantic toolboxes ride those, and they aren't even fast enough to keep an Eye-talian tractor in sight. Also, dry clutches? Isn't that what lubriderm is for?
  4. Always do what you think will be best for you and for your long term career goals. This includes working hard for your employer, being professional and not burning bridges, but ultimately if you need something 'temporary' while you search for something longer term, do what you feel is best for you. When it comes down to it, an employer will not give your best interests a second thought if it benefits them.
  5. I sympathize, it seems like I can't to anything without dropping a washer or bolt deep into the engine. I spent like 2 hours changing the air filter in my old 900SS (literally a 5 minute job otherwise) because I dropped one of the filter retaining clamps down into an inaccessible part of the frame.
  6. Forecast is still looking good for Saturday. It's ironic that the only week in Spring I travel to South Florida for work the weather here is absolute shit and it's fantastic in Ohio. Hopefully the rain isn't too bad tomorrow, otherwise there's a very real chance I'll get stuck in Atlanta.
  7. I thought that looked familiar and then I realized I was actually in this photo. That's in Sherrodsville along OH-212.
  8. Thanks for confirming, Nivin. Everything should hopefully go a lot smoother now. The gas stops will be tough no matter how we try them, although having the staggered speeds in the groups should help the congestion, especially if each group can move on after they've filled up.
  9. If the route is changing to cut out 555 by popular demand or genuine concern for rider safety, that's fine, but it needs to be fixed with a quickness and the route can't be up for discussion on the day of the ride or we will wind up with an enormous biketerfuck. I recommend having this thread updated with the final (not changing, even a tiny bit to ride that one road that my buddy told me was totally killer and it's only a little bit out of the way) route ASAP, as well as having the address for the gas stop indicated. Doc, since it's your thread, go ahead and finalize the route (I'm ok with the alternate that doesn't include 555 if that's what you decide). It's understandable that people may have alternate ideas or expectations, but at this point I don't think we should be taking further input - the route must be fixed so the leaders and sweeps can get organized.
  10. Changing the route this late is a mistake. Nothing wrong with 555 as long as everyone keeps a cool head.
  11. I'll just plan on meeting you guys in Coshocton. I may wind up slabbing down 77, or coming through Millersburg if I leave early enough.
  12. It's your ride, you could have picked a closer spot
  13. Should be fine for me as well. If anyone from Akron is interested, I'll probably be heading out around 7:00, or maybe just a bit earlier.
  14. If it's not competitive, how will we know who wins the group ride?
  15. That is awesome. I've been wanting to play around with video more lately and will have to check that technique out.
  16. Just got back from a nice 130 mile ride down 83/643/93. For those meeting in Millersburg coming from Akron that would normally take 241 through Massillon, they have 21 closed through that section, so it would probably be better to take 93 down and pick up 241 around Brewster.
  17. I just came back up 93. Road was in good condition and not too many Amish out today. 643, on the other hand, had more horse shit on it than I've ever seen. They must be trying to grow corn on the roads now.
  18. Just did a quick 100 mile cobweb dusting/suspension setup ride down through Millersburg and back up 93. Got the R1 handling like a champ and (mostly) broke in my new leathers. Hopefully next weekend will be this nice.
  19. Since always. I just assumed the memo was distributed to everyone My old S3:
  20. It's a well-known fact that people who own Speed Triples (or have owned them at some point) are way cooler than everyone else. Welcome!
  21. Still too far out on the weather. We probably shouldn't start paying attention until Thursday at the earliest.
  22. To me this site represents fulfillment of the promise of what technology can offer by helping to bring people with a common interest together in real life. I've met so many great people and been on so many amazing rides that I never would have experienced without this tool to coordinate the meet-ups. Being able to keep in touch with those people between rides is icing on the cake. Plus it's always nice to have an additional source of funny cat pictures.
  23. Bimota has had many beautiful designs, this just wasn't one of them:
  24. Hopefully everything turns out well. We'll be thinking of your family regardless.
  25. Plus if you ever get bored you can reverse the brillow pads to get the 'back of jbot's van at a trackday' experience.
