  1. Hahahaha....well I'm not going to post any pics. It was pretty scary this morning when they came over. I got busy with stuff and forgot to get in the shower b/f they got there. when they showed up I had my red pj bottoms on...had slept in my sweater from the night b/f and had one pony tail holder in and the other one had come out. Needless to say it was a very, very scary sight. They took it in stride though.
  2. Wow I guess I shouldn't be shocked at the rudeness of Americans spending money they don't have. The funny thing is......I went out yesterday morning with my mama & brother. I was in the Kohls in Perrysburg and the lines were longer than anything I have EVER seen b/f on any other black friday. I walked the whole store b/c I know the type of sales kohls runs (I'm in kohls a couple times a month shopping) and there was NO DIFFERENCE than any other day recently. The economy is so bad right now that companies are being forced to give better sales prices to keep revenue up. This poor guy was probably killed so someone could get a $2 pair of socks!!!
  3. THAT'S RIGHT BROTHA!!! See u & VRod dave soon right?? Can't wait to get these freakin wires out of here. I'm still in my jammies......
  4. Chris.....I searched for almost 2 months for the "perfect" bamboo floors last november. I went to lumber liquidators. A nurse I was working with at the time had her son in law lay the "natural" bamboo floors from lumbar liquidators. It was NOT uniform in color. Some were light some were darker (very similar to the spice color bamboo that I laid in my bedroom)!!!! It's b/c they are from all different maturity of the tree (that's what the people at LL said). Although it was very pretty in her home I wanted it all to be the EXACT same color in my downstairs. I have maple cabinets and I wanted my floors to match that. I had no problems going with LL last year but their "higher" end product was the exact same price as lowes. And lowes gave me 20% off my entire order b/c of some "issues" that I had with some people in that dept at the Easton branch. I've decided (depending on what my insurance co says) that I may put the stuff from LL in but I will be replacing the white carpet I have in my famiily room. So that's why I went to lowes. The product is quite nice.
  5. Ya I'm going to call my agent tomorrow who happens to be one of my best friends (it's her agency). She's looking into switching me over to a policy that's a bit more expensive but has that "accident" forgiveness clause in it. She feels bad b/c she never told me about it b/f my last fiasco. Well see what happens. I am a perfectionist through and through and after looking at it again when I woke up this morning I can tell I am NOT going to be happy looking at it every day. Plus i want to sell in about 4 years from now. I will NOT be able to sell with the floors looking the way they do. Jeremy do u do hardwood floors as well? I mean do you SPECIALIZE in them. I am very picky about which contractors I use. Just as cmoosego...hehe. and Chris does Jeff specialize in this type of work too? I need to call him and get all my ducks lined up. I want to use the same bamboo again and I purchased it at lowes. It was like $60/box and I remember orders tons of boxes. Just the materials alone were close to 3500. I'll now need to get all my baseboards replaced as well b/c I hammered those suckers in. Also they were all brand new....especially in my formal dining area! Darn it I loved these floors!!!! Anyhoo, have a happy thanksgiving everyone! I'm off to see my mama and eat some turkey!
  6. well chris had all my electric working in like 3 minutes of being here! And he didn't even shut off the main breaker! hehe. My floors do need replaced. They have started to buckle already. Very sad day for me! My DEhumidifier is wonderful!
  7. Don't be afraid of the fixer uppers. I've done tons of work to my house and I dont' have good guy to help me. You'll b fine. Good luck!
  8. I wasn't talking about you Mike. There was someone else who always craps in my threads. Everyone has been VERY nice & helpful. If you notice I was very playful with your comment.
  9. Can we PLEASE not turn this into religious slandering though guys. I seriously have been traumatized by all this. This was horrible for me.
  10. Ya...it got rid of all the rift raft in the world.
  11. I knew it was a DEhumidifier. Hahaha. Jeremy called me like 2 seconds after I posted that. i bought the 50 pint WITH a hose to run into my sump tank. I am running on VERY limited sleep right now and my stress level has hit it's limit.
  12. WEll I just had the "dryer" guy come out and he quoted me at least $3500 to get it dried out and then he told me it might not even work b/c it's been more than 12 hours since the floor got the initial insult. I have fans, space heaters, & my thermostat is at 80 degrees right now. The guy that was out here was nice enough to put my hose back on my washer. IT WASN'T BROKEN. Apparently I was too weak to get it back on. IF my floors buckle I am going to file a claim and get it completely replaced. Chris is coming over at 3pm to help change the fuse. I'm going to lowes now to by a humidifier or whatever its called. and yes Charles I do feel like my house is the money pit right now. All i want is some freaking turkey and candied yams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I know. I have for now. I spoke to Chris and I'm hoping he'll be able to take a look at it for me.
  14. No I tried to get the breaker out but couldn't. Thank God I did talk to Jeremy on the phone b/c now I know I need to turn off the main switch first. Ya I was having a blonde moment. hehe. I am just so frustrated right now! I have someone coming over in an hour to see if I need to spend the 3500 to get my floors/basement dried out. I'm taking Jeremy's advice though.....THANKS DUDE!! Have fun with all those kids in ur house today! ;)
  15. Chris I've called u twice this morning. I'm gonna try to take out the breaker thingy and take it to lowes to get another one to replace it. Is there any way you can stop by today to take a look?
  16. Its all natural...really really light to match my maple cabinets. I know everyone is telling me to stop freaking out! I always stress myself out more than I should!
  17. My house is 87 degrees right now. I'm melting! My big concern today is getting someone over here to look at my electrical box. I'm gonna hit lowes in a few minutes here! I guess I need to be thankful that that I still have a roof over my head and the finances to pay for this. Many people don't with this economy. Seeing that it is Thanksgiving I'm going to stay positive.
  18. WEll looks like there is more extensive damage to my floors than what I thought. I woke up this morning and they are all darkened around the parts where they lay together. I don't think this is part of the actually "drying" process but actual damage. I called my insurance agent today and she informed me that if I put in another claim to allstate since I just had a 22k claim for my chimney 2 months ago they will 1. drop me completely from their homeowners insurance or 2. triple my homeowners for the remainer of my time with them (I'd be paying almost 1500/year then). I'm so frustrated but at least my boss literally kicked me out of the office just now to go home to take care of this stuff.
  19. hahaha..funny! Thanks 4 the offer but I think I'm gonna let enough alone and take all my wet clothes/towels to my mom's and do the laundry now that my washer hose is broken. She's gonna love me this weekend! hehe.
  20. well the whole wall behind the fuse box is saturated!!!
  21. Justin I have done TONS of work to my house myself. It's only 8 years old but I've done over 10K of upgrades in the last year. I laid 1100 sq feet of bamboo floors last december...sponge painting, back splash. All I did was read. Everyone that comes over are very impressed. Where in reynoldsburg are you moving? I live in summit ridge/taylor woods subdivision.
  22. Well I threw a load of clothes in the wash so I could pack for turkey day and then left to go get the mario kart for my wii. I got home 45 minutes later and had 2 inches of water in my kitchen and at least 6 inches in my basement. My hose from my washer broke off!!! I have bamboo that was just laid a year ago (5/8 inch...it's the real stuff). It is completely saturated. I managed to get all the water sucked up and swept most of the basement water into the sump pump. Question.....will my bamboo survive???? I don't want to have to file another home owner's claim since I just had a 22K claim that I finally got 2 weeks ago for my broken chimney. Also my fuse box has a blown fuse. I have tried to reset it and it's still red/orange. How in the world do u replace a freakin fuse? These are the ONLY times I hate being single darn it!!! hehe. And thank you to Hwilli for walking me through my mess over the phone!!! Kudos for one nice guy this week!!!!!
