  1. I have a spare from my old FD. 5x114.3. Skinny wheel with a tire that was never used. Can get you $2 if you want a cheap drag-pack setup. Haha. $40 each. Oh yeah. They're bright ass YELLOW
  2. TL;DR Wants 930. Buys 912 with a body kit to flip. Lol.
  3. Dang Chandler, that's quite the upgrade in speed. I'd like a ride sometime so I can be mad I didn't buy one.
  4. Yep. Where are you at Matt? You make it to the Westerville or Polaris area?
  5. Yeah I've been dragging my feet on that. Still technically have the silver one, but it's going to the crusher at the end of July.
  6. going with something new? I've seen your car at cars and coffee and thought it looked great.
  7. I'd like to take the windshield and rear hatch glass out of my wrecked Rx7 shell WITHOUT breaking them so they can be reused or sold. I know the piano wire or cold knife tricks, but also know that it leaves a good chance of cracking the glass. Ideally I'd like to find someone experienced who can come out to Reynoldsburg and do it for $50 or less. Does that exist? Anyone know of a good lead?
  8. I'll be there Friday as always in my friend's 67 Deville
  9. They're just taking a queue from Porsche and they'll get rid of them only to chage you more on a future model that offers a manual as a "true driving experience"

    My new ST

Your GTR can be a track monster too, but the vette will offer lower operating costs and a more visceral experience. As Andy said just keep your head about you and you can drive whatever you want. Make sure to insure it too just in case you gave a major boo boo.
  11. Goddamnit! Hopefully it's mostly fiberglass and can be fixed.

I agree with your points, but think you should look for a well kept and slightly track prepped e46 M3 instead. Then buy track insurance.

No offense to the ST, nice car, but there are better options out there for you. Start a new thread and I'm sure you'll get about 50 different opinions on what to buy. Haha.
  14. Kale, call our buddy big Rob with the white 5.0 M3. He'll tell you what you really need and also help you figure out your back pain as well. He's called you for enough BMW advice over the years he'll be happy to help. Let me know if you need his number.
  15. Agreed. I have a limited amount of money and even more limited time these days, so I need to make a concerted effort to keep getting back on track the forefront goal. For this car that'll mean getting a roll bar welded in which will be a big time hurdle to overcome as I don't do that work myself.
  16. When I went to file for a salvage title on the silver car I was surprised to see that I had only driven it a little over 14k miles in 7+ years of ownership. The redeeming factor to me is that 10k+ of those were track miles. Haha. I'd like to make some changes/effort to drive the new one on the street more, but it'll still be at least 80% track time and modified as such.
  17. While I greatly appreciate the work that defined has done with multi-rotor motors and a N/A 20b would be awesome...it costs more than the LS swap so I'm out. I spend a crap ton (in my mind) of money each year on my Rx7, but I like for that money to go toward actually tracking the car and not being tied up in multi-year builds. The biggest future change i could see happening would be going single turbo, but even then I'd shoot for 350-360whp as I believe that's the balance limit of just tearing up the stock drivetrain even more.
  18. No LS swap planned. I don't hate people who do the swap, but to do it properly is expensive. I considered buying one, but it's hard to find one done like id want it (not 500+hp and straight line oriented) or not a complete hack job. Also, I've yet to come across a v8 FD that was faster than me around Mid Ohio and that's my primary use of the vehicle performance wise.
  19. Car came with a completely stock working drivetrain that I believe to be all original at 61k miles. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get any documentation on the car so I don't know if it had a reman at some point. The car starts fine hot and cold and doesn't smoke. I'll determine if I sell the motor or keep it as a spare to build, but I'll definitely keep the trans and diff because tracking is hard on those components. Stock twins have the waste gate ported but that's all.
  20. unfortunately this car has an aftermarket head unit in it. I bought another DIN pocket and intend on doing a full radio delete on this one unless it's easy to go back to a factory unit. I do have a BOSE unit from my old car though if that'd work for you. Pretty much the old cars drivetrain will go in this car. Stock twins, full exhaust, PFC, PFS inter cooler with my custom intakes. I have to send out my rear Ohlins to get repaired but plan to run Ohlins DFV's and AP Racing brakes again. Eventually I'd like to run a different fuel and inter cooler setup, but will likely drop everything in as-is to get the car up and running as quickly as possible. I'll eventually make a build thread for this car to capture that stuff along the way. I'd like to get this car to 2750lbs working weight and get the car back in the low :39s/high :38s at mid Ohio on Nittos. Then I can look for the extra 30-40hp I want to be able to hang with the faster GT3's out there.
  21. I see their point too. I highly considered one as a replacement to my rx7. A C5z would be faster, more reliable, and ultimately likely cheaper than doing another Rx7 track car. It's the best speed per dollar you can buy out there, but it just wasn't "me" and I didn't think id like the ownership experience outside of the track as much.
  22. Yes. My first track experience was on sport bikes when I was 18-23. It's cheaper than cars for sure, but also some of the fun of this habit is being with friends/family while we all enjoy it. I only know one person riding bikes anymore and most of my friends are tracking cars, so that's where I'll stay. Plus being an instructor is an additional challenge and continued growth opportunity for me in cars.
  23. No guarantees. And due to that I'm also going to do an irreversible mod to this one and weld in another roll bar. I'm not going back to the track with any less safety equipment than I had previously. It hurts my weird love for these cars to think about doing some of the things I'll do to this survivor car....but it's mine to enjoy how I want and at least I'm using it and keeping it well instead of hard parking it and putting a nasty body kit on it.
