cool to see. You certainly do keep the car very nice. Will the cam/heads put you in a different auto-x class though? Or were you planning on changing anyway?

Going to Vegas this weekend, what car to rent/where to see Hoover Dam
Smokey replied to Nitrousbird's topic in Dumpster
since it's in vegas and a normal elise, you're correct that you'll be able to get in and out without the roof on....however I doubt it would be very enjoyable. I'd probably look for something a little bigger so that you can actually enjoy the trip. -
welcome in. Any more details/pictures you can give us on the $2009 challenge car?

HAHA....nice quote. I'll be fine though. People tend to think Mike Lowery gonna be alright!

cool car, but the thought of owning and keeping an Alfa running scares me....and I'm an FD owner my man.
-
don't do it as others have said. Not worth the trouble.

you do what you want, but my time behind the wheel will be spend at 7 over the limit. I still think in the wide open spaces we'll be in that we'd need a laser jammer to have any sort of chance.

sorry for your loss. Hope all is well for your family.

I'm always interested to see what they did to come up with those statistics, but couldn't find it anywhere. Is it based on the total number of tickets written by vehicle or are they taking vehicle production into account and saying that it's a percent of owners? For instance are they saying that there were say 12,000 (out of the air so don't question this number I know it's wrong) tickets written to H2's which is more than any other car? Or are they saying that there were 12,000 tickets written out of 60,000 H2's on the road and that percentage is more than any other car? I've seen some of the "most stolen cars" done based on the percentage thing which I think gives a false impression. It'd also be that much more impressive for the 2 AMG cars if it's just based on pure volume since they're a lower production car and there just aren't as many out on the road.

the site is definitely addicting and hilarious. I laughed for a good 2 minutes out loud at that one

as a casual user of the program myself...I realize that I'm paying more for the food and in the end it pretty much equals out to other programs out there, and I'm not really saving any money... BUT, the feeling of pure victory that you get when you fill up for free at the pump is priceless. The dollar counter just says zero and the gallons keep going up...totally worth it.

probably the best way to tell what the actual values are would be to look around in the classifieds of the associated forums you're on for the car. Book values have yet to catch up with the current economic changes. A few cars have gone up in value, but many have gone down quite a bit. I suppose it's good if you're trying to buy a car and get a loan based on book value.

he conspicuously doesn't mention what transmission is in it, so am I to assume that it's an auto? Combine that with the body kit, it not being a real turbo car, and the fact that it was likely owned by a youger guy (by looking at the mods) and I'd say bail. You'd be better off tweaking things on the FD. The only way I'd see doing it is if you've always wanted a Supra more than any other car on the planet. Then get it and fix it (looks wise).

it's not worth it for any dealership to risk it. They have the possibility of paying fines out the ass and losing their manufacturer backing if they're caught knowingly breaking those age limits on selling quads. If you're dead set on buying a quad you'll have to lie about his age because as soon as the dealer hears he's not of age they'll basically tell you to go somewhere else (not in a mean way, unless they're ass-hats). I still maintain that a small dirtbike is FAR more safe and will keep your son's interest for MUCH longer. Either way make sure he has the proper gear.

I have my consultation scheduled for March 2nd. Not really looking forward to it, but after sitting through a root canal on Friday it can't be much worse.

I'd honestly stay clear of the mini ATVs. They're heavy enough to hurt a child pretty bad in the event of a roll-over but at the same time they're turd slow and barely have enough power to ride around a decently lumpy back yard. Instead I'd look at a KLX 110. It's cluch-less so it'll be easy to pick up, but it's definitely a bike he can grow with. Hell, you'll find yourself riding it way more than you'll admit to.

dunno boss, but it's not your liver with the Advil. I'd probably still steer clear if it hurts you though.
-
just so you know Will, Advil or Ibuprofen don't work through your liver like Aspirin based products like Tylenol

cool job and a nice ride. Welcome to the site. Please keep us updated on the Genesis when you get it and start to modify it. I'm very interested.

I'd pass on grass on that one. It also looks like the rear vents wouldn't work that great since they're up by the base of the windshield which is an area of high pressure. Are underhood temps an issue on the Z32? I don't really like my vented hood on my FD but it's somewhat of a need due to the major heat the rotary puts out. I vote stock.

Nice VW. Welcome to the site.

another nice Z and another good intro. Welcome.

wow. So if I'm reading it correctly only account numbers were compromised and not any sort of personal information correct? I looked thru the first link and the 2008breach link but couldn't find any way of telling if I would have had contact with one of those systems. Is there some way to tell if I would have interacted with Heartland Payment systems as a third party to my regular activities? (I would obviously remember if I had something setup thru them directly)

The early e46 M3s had a bearing recall on the motor, as long as it was done there's not really much to worry about, but make sure it was done. Other than that, trim options just got better over time. Halfway thru 03' they added LED tail lights which look quite nice, but can be retrofitted to the earlier cars it's just not cheap. I believe in 03 they also added navigation. I love e36's but I'm not naive enough to claim it to be better than an e46. Don't get me wrong, the e36 is a GREAT car, and it does many things well. In some respects it's more fun to drive than the e46 as well. BUT, it's also starting to show its age design wise in my opinion and a new camry comes with more HP. You'll want to look at how much you intend to drive it though because maintenance on an e46 M3 is much more than an e36 (but this also assumes you didn't buy a beat ass money pit of an e36 which is possible). Another option you might consider is buying an e46 330 coupe. They look great and still come with 250hp which can be fun. They're pretty much as fast as an e36 M3 and you get the looks and updated features of an e46.
