    1994 vfr750

Still for sale? Five star side AND top rack or just sides? Got an updated pic with the Corbin on it?
  2. Hmm... I had seen that on here (of course, it's a VFR...) but it just occurred to me that if she were to get this, I could probably inherit the risers and the brackets for my bike...
  3. Will definitely pass on the info... fyi, I was leaning toward the SV650 for her. Thought about the Buell's, especially the Lightning Low, but I don't think she wants a bike she has to wrench on all the time Also, thought she'd really have fun on a VFR750.
  4. Fun and eats cheap ammo... How can you go wrong?
  5. I think she'd get bored with the 250 ish size bikes also... She mentioned that she had seen a CB500 somewhere...
  6. A friend of mine, currently riding a Honda V65, recently mentioned to me that she is considering a new(er) bike. I asked if she was going to spend the money for a Harley and she said, "nah. sportbikes corner better." Lol. She apparently likes my VFR, having made a couple trips on the back with me. So she's never been one to post stuff on line, more of a lurker like me, but she checks around on C-list and what not. That's how she found the v65. Not being an expert myself, I really didn't know what would be the best combo for her. You know, fit versus power in a ladies size bike. She's less than 100 pounds but very fit (used to be a trainer at a Curves) and only 5 foot tall but has a longer inseam for her height than most. And she's an accomplished rider, but mostly with cruisers and dirt bikes. No, I'm not going to post up any pics... I know there's a wealth of experience here on OR and I value the information that I've received any time I've asked. So, seriously, what would you recommend? She may read along and I'll definitely relay any information if she doesn't.
  7. It takes a scary wife to keep some of us in line.
  8. LOL, I know that AR... Good thing you snapped it up. Congrats on the purchase!
  9. Damn... So tempting but the wife would kill me. Did you advertise on theGSResources.com?
  10. Subscribed for the Spring Date!
  11. Awesome... I love how they only have one menu item in blue - Guy's Big Balls. LOL
  12. Took a couple great rides into the area last year. Well worth the trip. Definitely more accomodations in Lancaster than Logan. The extra time to get to Athens would put you more into riding country and is a really good idea, imo.
  13. doing it all wrong... That's not something you just rush thru, pullin the trigger multiple times without taking the time to savor each squeeze, feeling each impact slamming into your body with excruciating joy as the expression on your face is blurred between a grimace and a smile... And she shot the damn gun too fast too...
  14. The flyer had both 223 and 5.56 listed at good prices... Hmm. Hope there's some left tomorrow.
  15. Energy content per wood species in BTU's http://www.woodheat.org/firewood.html
  16. Agreed! Our furnace fan isn't bad efficiency wise. I don't run it all the time because it just doesn't help that much. We have a ranch and the bedrooms get pretty cool since they're the furthest away. This summer if I get time I'm going to plumb in a cold air return over or behind the stove so I can get more warm air circulated.
  17. Two years ago we put in a Jotul to supplement our fuel oil which is ungodly expensive. Saves me about half what we spent on oil previously. Will try to get a pic up. When the stove is burning, we run the fan on the furnace and it helps to circulate some of the heat. You're still going to get cold spots in some of your rooms, but the money savings is worth it to me. Definitely listen to the tips on seasoned wood, and don't believe these people selling wood in the fall that tell you its seasoned. Chances are they're landscapers that have picked up wood and left it uncut and unsplit in a pile somewhere until the end of their season when they have time to work with it. Get your wood in June or July. Good seasoned wood will "ring" when you bang two pieces together. If it "clunks", it's wet. Wet wood not only burns ineffeciently (doesn't produce as much heat) but it will cause creosote to build up faster in your flu. One last thing I'd recommend, find a reputable dealer that has a showroom with working stoves. We visited Sallys Hearth and Home in Pataskala during the winter and they had several units running. They are full service and provided us with the paperwork to file for our taxes after the install. Good luck.
  18. Nice videos! Thanks. The first video, I really like the suppressed rig he was shooting. Not sure I could do the reed calls, but he made it work!
  19. http://www.furtakers.com/show.php Stumbled across this show this morning on the Outdoor Channel. Made me late for work! Definitely got me fired up about getting a varmint rig together. Never been real serious about hunting coyotes until our nice deer area got overrun this past year. Farmer told us he'd seen more yotes than ever before. Seems like a good show. Got it set up to DVR.
  20. In 1994, Congress enacted HR 3355, the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 (103rd Congress, Second Session). Title XI Subtitle A specifies a short list of “semi automatic assault weapons” by manufacturer and model number. It also attempts to categorize long guns not on the specified list under the title of assault weapon by identifying certain observable traits. Specifically, it states that a semi automatic assault weapon has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following traits: a folding or telescoping stock; a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously; a bayonet mount; a flash suppressor or threaded barrel to accommodate a flash suppressor; or a grenade launcher.
  21. Cool... Thanks for the link. Answered what I've always wondered about low brass #8 too. And as a bonus for me and my debate about buying a Judge, Box o Truth had an interesting write up there as well.
  22. Must not be a popular choice... My thoughts as far as home defense goes are mainly with penetration and collateral damage, whether its the 10 yo in the next room or the neighbors next door. I'd be interested to hear about effects on the other side of two thickness' of standard drywall. Of course, since it is a "low power" round, how effective is the stopping power in the first place? Might have to do a mock up with a two by four frame and some 3/8 or half inch drywall if there isn't any info out there already. Hell, deer season is about over... might as well find something else fun to do, right?
  23. I'm not a "low power" ammo kind of guy, but a local shop is selling this stuff for $59.99 for a box of 80. Sounds good for fun and practice, but what about for a home defense round? Midway USA reviews seem good, but I thought I'd ask on here for local opinions.
