  1. I ran over him, he said his back is really sore today. The bikes went flying and his landed on top of mine on the left side somehow. Green paint all over the tail, which is what I think broke the frame/rearset bracket.
  2. Sunday did not go as planned in my C Superbike race. Front end didn't want to stay down on start and the quickshift was giving me fits. Need to make the timing a bit longer. Anyways, it was a 3 way battle for 3rd place in the race with us trading off until the guy on the kawi spun the rear up and lowsided. I was dazed and had my breath knocked out along with being instantly sore. The other guys bike ended up on top of mine which is what fubared my bike more. As for me, I noticed my left pinky wasn't feeling right and looked at it with my gloves off and found it sticking outwards dislocated. Went to EMS and they said they couldn't do it by law so I had the gf set it straight at the track which hurt like hell. Dr. says it still has spiral fracture of middle bone an possible tendon damage. Also have a fractured tailbone which makes life fun. Looked over the bike mostly to see whats junked, and it looks like both rearset brackets bent, right clip-on snapped, right brake lever snapped, upper+tail bodywork blown out/smashed, Quickshift rod bent, Subframe tray broke/possible tweaked subframe, helmet, gloves and minor bolts etc. And left rearset top bolt bracket on the frame snapped off, so I have to find a aluminum welder to fill it back in and redrill/tap it...or get a new frame Called Mid-Ohio PTR about it all and they worked with me and credited me for the day and will reschedule for another day! Great ppl there for sure and I look forward to healing up and finally getting back out. Crash at 9:12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFQPsZ47nxA

  4. Three man race for third, he got on power to soon and spun the rear up and lowsided with the bike leaned over. I had no where to go but into his body and bike. I got it on the go pro at least.
  5. Well kinda, I'll probably have to see a Dr tomorrow. Broken bits on bike and me
  6. Got taken out today at Summit with WERA, so I wont be coming. Bike and I will prolly be down for a bit. Will be in need of an aluminum welder if anyone knows a good one for fill & drill/tap.

  8. I had a set of goodyear silentarmors on my old colorado. They did pretty well at first, but by 50% into their treadlife driving in rain became much more interesting. Also, they are a heavy tire and resulted in a 2-3mpg loss. I currently have pirelli scorpion ATR's mounted as oem and they did ok till about 25k miles. With my spirited driving, the outside edges are smooth so turning in the rain doesnt work and it hydroplanes bad. I've been looking for new tires myself as I'll need them by winter, and so far my mind is set on the firestone destination A/T's. They are cheaper and better rated then the other tires. 700 vs 950-1k. Mind you, I also have big tires 275/55R20. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Firestone&tireModel=Destination+A%2FT
  9. Lol, that was ment as this sat/sunday racing with WERA at Summit Point..having crashed there before. But should be ok and at MO monday early. Will prolly just run out of my canopy/trailer for the day. My first year i did my streetbike also. Its nervous for sure, but just focus amd keep your cool. Dont push yourself so hard and make a mistake. Just listen to the coaches, take your time and dont get over your head and you have fun and go home happy!
  10. Registered for the 6th. Heres to hoping I don't wad the bike up this weekend!
  11. Thread Split for 6/7th also so we can team up better.
  12. So, I've tried reading through all the various threads and are trying to come up with a count of whos going and when. Please feel free to post accordingly if you've registered and what date, or if you've respectively bowed out. 6th SJC1000rr-Advanced jschaf rslocum-Novice fitz13-Novice Dubguy- gixxie750-Coach Rusty 848-Advanced Hondafan-Novice KTM-Brian-Advanced bigd-Novice idodishez-Novice Loud and Low-Intermediate grimmdj-Novice 7th Dubguy+Dad standout m0rtal1ty-Intermediate gixxie750-Coach Mykill Hondafan-if all goes well-Novice? 13. I may be able to make this. I know Dubguy was thinking of taking lead for organizing it, but havn't seen anything as of yet. I can help organize also. Anyone else interested in going? Can provide trailer support for one...maybe two.
  14. Can confirm I will be there. Hope to have my trailer all done by then and can use it to sleep in vs my truck like last year!
  15. Will see how the weekend goes, but I have the the 6th off if the weathers good and will decide last minute.
  16. Won't be able too, WERA weekend at Summit and preregistered. Best of luck and fun to those that go!
  17. Stock CBR is ok for someone up to about 160-180lbs. The front is too soft for someone over that (esp 200+) and the rear really lacks adjustment. I feel this everyday with my setup 600rr vs stock 1000rr. The front just dives and the rear doesn't stay as planted to feel confident. You have to weight your options on what you want to do in the future and how much you want to spend. Are you wanting to focus more on street or mixed track/street or primarily track? Having some insight into what you what you are thinking can help us offer suggestions. A scotts damper, proper springs rates if needed and sag setup would serve you a long way. After that SS lines with proper pads will help with stopping.
  18. 44/46 may be a bit small length wise. I'm 6'2" and wear. 58/48 or 56/46 depending on how the suits made. Weight has varied from 205-225 and the suit was still fine width wise...but height i wouldnt want it any smaller. WERA classified will have some and try riders discount for new. They are good about info on sizes also if you have questions.
  19. I won't rule out the 27/28th, but won't be able to confirm going until it gets closer to game time. But would like to go with someone that I know, so will let you know john.
  20. Im defo out as nate said. Im looking at june 6 maybe is the weather is good.
  21. A proper map would smooth out the throttle response for you. The stock suspenion/springs are quiet soft on the CBR'S and could also have something to with it. Getting yout sag set would be beneficial and pretty cheap now days.
  22. Probably not enough to justify spending $200, I would have guessed the 03 with FS/p3 would be around 105ish. The cheap way would still be to just get a few dyno pulls done at a place to see your air/fuel ratios and what the hp/tq are currently. Seattime is much more valuable then a few more hp when your just learning. My bike only did 108.4 last year and I had a blast just taking it all it and still got what I consider good finishes for my first year.
  23. And the 07+ have 12.2:1 and yet consistantly made more power on 87 then mine on 93. (108hp vs 110-112) Mind you it was on different dynos and such. But the bikes were almost identically built other then which fuel made more power. (Jake Holden's last years CBR race bikes vs mine) Again, this is my experiances and information gained with a 600rr from the past two years of testing & tuning and talking with other credible guys that use them. Its also pretty easy to find other people having the same experiances from a small google search. My suggestion was still to get it properly tested at a good dyno tuner for optimal results and comparison. And that the premade maps are complete crap for performance other then making the map functional without risk of damaging the bike from being too lean.
  24. The power commander is very simple to use and user friendly. If you have usb adapter, just turn the bike on (doesn't need to be running) and plug the usb into a computer. You will need dynojets software installed to access it. From there, its a matter of selecting and loading/saving maps. However, I have yet to see any premade map that was worth a crap. The best thing is a custom tune for your bike, as what was supposedly done. The only way to check it, is a few dyno pulls. (Contact DTM Brian for this) As far as your bike being tuned for 87 octane, that simply means when the previous guy had it tuned...thats what was in the tank/engine. From my experiance, a non-built CBR engine doesn't have the compression to make use of a higher octane. My 07 was tuned on Bp 93 and made less power then very similar bikes on 87. The only way to truely test that..would be to test pull with 87, then empty and repeat with 93.
