  1. I used to get 2-3 trackdays and 2-3k street miles out of a set of street tires running upper level advanced on my 01 1k. It will depend on how quick you ride. Beginner class with STT is structured for the morning then they open up in the afternoons so if you do all beginner 3-5 trackdays depending on street miles. Newer tires are softer so maybe 2-3 trackdays and 1-2 k street miles Brakes just take the pads out check to see if they have plenty of material. If they do, just sand them down with 200-300 grit to makes sure they aren't glazed. Spray them with brake cleaner to get residue off then put them back in.
  2. Well tell that to the guys there for the promoter practice who primarily run just WERA regional races but have the points to race the AMA weekend who are still running 1:35 or higher. No Drew and Lizard I am not referring to guys like McClusky, Agnes, etc... I have seen some of the qualifying times during the Race weekend and have seen some in the 1:37-38 range in qualifying last year.
  3. Welp I am out. I be in PA racing that weekend.
  4. Hey Flounder, i will probably do that day as well (maybe if I am fast enough Monte will let me out with the AMA boys.... If I can run low 30s I hope he does as it will be very difficult to run that in the STT portion. I may ride up Friday night, hang out and head to the races Saturday with you all. Maybe just maybe in 2009 I can try to qualify for the 600 race but I doubt it.
  5. Yes my dad did 2 beginner days with STT then I got him a Class at Mid OH with Reg Pridmore's CLASS riding school $350 vs STT $195 and he said that the each class room portion of that school was identical to what he got with STT both times. And the On track time was structured more with STT to help you learn I have done Lvl 1&2 with Code and from what I got from my dad the Subject matter in lvl 1 is damn near.
  6. Camping,,, No thanks. Did that once never again... After 4 hours of Rev limiter then Cheering I decided never again....
  7. Mid OH has called it a school since they took over the $$ aspect from Sportbike track time. Though the Beginner level is basically the same school as Reg Pridmore's CLASS and Level 1 of Keith Code's Superbike School.
  8. Is Chis your new boyfriend???? Flounder will be jealous....
  9. She was not sasquach(sp^) Wait....What??? Maybe it was the brother of that little decepticon transformer......
  10. Mid OH last year ran $195-220 and other tracks like putnam in IN are $155. You will get 6-7 20 minute session on track.. Trust me it is a lot
  11. Sucks she can't get the same pain. When she gets to hell I think her punishment should be to give birth over and over with no drugs for all eternity.
  12. Yeah 100 mph in that car would be screaming. Figure for him to get up to 100mph without 1st or 2nd gear he would have neeed at least a good mile.
  13. Wow 100 mph races... Most the bike community would :lol at that. But I agree that most the accidents are probably from the Spontaneous challenges where the driver has no experience going fast. For a month straight at least 3 times a week on the way to college I hit over 100mph because damn OH drivers forget that you can pass on a dotted yellow line. Make turn 4th person back behind a tractor trailer trying to climb a straight open hill. I give 5 seconds or so to see if anyone will pass, nope then hit gas and by the time I am past the semi I am over 100. Most times I could have just done the speed limit and made the pass, but didn't.
  14. Yeah and I got to find 8 seconds to sniff the front.
  15. If your running 47s flounder you don't need to go back into intermediate. Hell I was running 47s in the Advanced group just before they changed the pavement. And there are plenty of slower riders then 47s in the advanced group at every Mid OH day I have been.
  16. The Performance Track Riding is just their version of a Sportbike Track Time trackday. Sportbike Track Time handles all operations of the day while Mid OH collects $$$. Lizard and Drew owndj (something like that) are instructors and will be there. The beginner group has class room session that are included in the price, and this classroom and on track instruction is easily on par with schools that cost twice as much. Once you get into intermediate (and if flounder gets into advanced) and advanced there is no school session but coaches are available to help, some *hint* Lizard and Drew....
  17. I should have gotten a pic, but a guy at our last trackday in IN kid trailered his SuperMotard to the track with his Goldwing. That was a sight seeing the bike being trailered by a goldwing. I wish i could have gotten a pic of it in action too.
  18. Actually I see a small resemblance to the 1098 in the front end of the CBR 1000. But I do like the looks of the CBR. Yeah CBR has been sucking Hind tit since the zx-10 came out, 2nd since 1998 R1, 3rd since the 2001 GSXR 1000 (which raised the bar a bunch).
  19. Well it was the only one that really didn't change since 2003 till 2007 model. I think they were plain with little excitement in the looks. The only CBR I thinked look good was the Blue/Yellow CBR 1000 last year. That is pretty much it.
  20. As long as it don't have the damn wing on it, it is an improvement. You can sticker up a plain bike easier.
  21. You'd be surprised how quick a Busa can move in the twisties. And for street I still wish I had gotten the busa for more comfort on long trips. I don't need to push that hard on the street anymore. (trackdays/Racing)
  22. The pegs get me on the Hondas. The Kawis feel too high, but not to uncomfortable, the Yami I just felt like I was sitting on the gas tank.
