  1. Saw the story on the news last night. Was a CBR. Front of car was "V" shaped after being hit. Cannot imagine it was simply a pulled out as it would have most likely been on the Driver's side of the car... Now, who is to say that the news channels didn't have the right pics, but that was Channel 4 and WBNS...
  2. True, but there are PLENTY of motorcyclists that ride like total idiots as well. I had a kid the other day that thought passing in the Emergency Lane made a lot of sense. He almost ass packed a semi because he made a bad decision when to pull into the slow lane again... People like that make me pissed. I am used to stupid car drivers. Deal with them daily and expect them to be the same with being on a bike. The problem is that the bike doesn't have a chance... But, these idiots on bikes burn my ass because they give us all a bad name...
  3. Just to be a Devil's advocate, after seeing that bike and car, the bike looked to have hit the car almost head on. It also had the front end of the bike completely ripped off... Now, I am not familiar with the intersection nor the speed limit there so, I will not comment, but where the bike hit, it looked to me that it was POSSIBLE that the car was turned and the bike was flying at a higher rate of speed. Not blaming anyone, but I don't like to see posts where you assume with almost zero information that the car driver should be thrown in the slammer and beat to death. You might need some more info. I know it says the bike was hit by the car turning left, but again... I have seen guys running fast down the road and when the car driver looks, they see nothing, they may even look again and due to the rate of approach, might have saw the distance and pulled out. If the bike was flying, distance was mis judged and the accident happened... Now, it very well could be they didn't see them and pulled out and was totally the car driver error and yes, should be issued citation and let the law handle it... I didn't see anything regarding citations so, we have zero knowledge and you are jumping to conclusions...
  4. Not sure... He was all about putting motard wheels on the dirt bike, but now, after we cut a small track in the woods, he is wanting to stick with dirt. Possibly flat track, but not sure. He was on my ass about a 125 GP style bike and we might consider, but only with some experience at CRP or similar...
  5. I really like the idea of the Junior Program and will be talking with Todd about this. I really would like to help the young ones in getting into this sport.
  6. He's a bad ass? Mike Smith is a bad ass... Not sure Jeff falls into that category...
  7. He's copying (not very original and extremely bold) Mike Smith's suits. Mike always had the fray stuff. But, biggest difference is that Smith was a demon and one of the most naturally talented riders on the planet...
  8. They are fairly average in size. Kinda wide actually at the tank. SUPER fun and that was on bone stock OEM tires... Burned up three sets of tires in a 2 day track event!! I'm 6'1" for reference... Probably due to being a naked bike vs fully faired sportbike...
  9. Thiel's is still around. They actually expanded down south also. but, as for 1 piece suits, they do not carry anything like that. As far as what Pony has in stock, AStar, Dianese, Fieldsheer, Teknic, etc. Pretty decent IN STOCK. However, if they do not have anything, I'd suggest STG. The reason being is that STG has some of the best customer service guys on the phone. They carry in stock everything I listed PLUS many other brands. If they send it, you try it on and it doesn't fit? Free returns... But again, try local before you do anything... Oh, and Jbot, the statement you made sounded like try it on at Pony and then buy from Riders, STG, etc. That was apparently not what you meant so, I apologize.
  10. Going into off the back straight. Not coming out... The Zook would spin and leave darkies, but I don't do the full on smoke off the rear and stepped out...
  11. This is 100% true... I've really tried to convince Chris from Pony that there is a need for a good shop up north...
  12. Oh, and I am all for supporting the sponsors. I think if you have a local shop, you need to support them. The sponsors on here have local places and I suggest IF you go into their shops or locations or contact them if they do not have a location, you support them. Don't try shit on and go somewhere else... That's what I am getting at.
  13. Dude, the one thing that pisses me off more than anything is using a dealership that actually HAS inventory, has overhead to supply customers with accessibility to product and they use that dealership for simply a sizing room. That's bullshit. I've been in this industry for a long time. If you are not willing to support local shops like Pony, then don't be bitching when time comes they are no longer there. Rider's is cool and all, but keep a few things in mind: 1) Not having a point of purchase facility like Pony does is cheaper. What Pony does is VERY expensive. Employees, rent, the amount it costs to keep it running, etc. Warehouse and internet only companies are saving big bucks. Pony has what the internet companies have, but in stock under one roof. Amazing. 2) Prices. I get sick and tired of start up shops that come in and give shit away. Understand one simple truth... You can sell $1 million in parts and make 10% on everything. That's $100k. That ain't much. Pay for electricity, employees, shop tools, insurance, yourself, etc. By the end of it all, they aren;t making much and usually do not survive more than a few years. 3) Price part II. Save what? 10-20%? Take a $200 total. Save $20-$40. Have to wait at minimum 1-2 days and then install. Buy at a place locally and get it that same day. $20 more and you got it that same day, have it on and riding. No waiting. The prices you see online vs what you can buy locally isn't usually that big a difference and with MAP policies on current products by most companies now, you save really only on old product. 4) In this case - apparel. You can try it on, see how it fits, functions, get good input by employees, etc. That is worth something. If you save $40 on that $200 jacket and get it and find out it doesn't fit right, doesn't look like you thought, etc., you can return it and wait more... Bottom line is this - dealerships are companies that need to step into the e-commerce age. I understand that part and most are. Also, companies are making it tougher and tougher to do blow out deals online vs a brick and mortar. Wait until you have to pay tax on everything no matter where you buy it. It's already happening and is going to be most likely common every time you order online... Rant over. Unfortunately for you, not much up north, but that 2 hour drive to Pony is well worth it and if you spend some time, they have some killer closeout stuff...
  14. I was talking on the bike... Not probably what you had in mind...
  15. Ah, shit!!! Hmmmmm... Well, that makes things a little tougher... I still like the idea of Dave helping me out a tad. Tough decisions... Sorry Trmn8tr. My bad.
  16. Hahahaha! I can do that almost exactly to the tee. Just as you said, though... I'd have to have the video cut short and make sure there are no close ups to my face... I call those moments girlie moments. Reason being, I am screaming like a girl inside my helmet!
  17. Actually, the next Nelson round after this event is at Nelson... They don't go to the Beaver until July... I am thinking of doing this event on Saturday to break the motor in. It's kinda steep for a single day though. But, I'd like Dave to run through the new suspension setup...
  18. How did wonder boy make it into this thread? He doesn't even know when counter steering is so blatantly in his face even!! Smack my face and call me Craig...
  19. What's this turd burglar looking at? http://www.abi-photo.com/p578607095/h2a768c20#h154517c8 I think it is cute you two used the same zip tye on your suits... You should be called "Red Zip Tye Racing". Fags.
  20. Mad- I'l sell ya my Contour HD with GPS and iPhone connection...
  21. It looks even bigger than the GoPro. I also think at how much bouncing it had on those video examples, it would be pretty bad on a bike, but not sure... I think for what, $40-$60 less than a GoPro, you would be better off trying to find a Contour or GoPro on sale...
