  1. she looks real good in a lot of pics. Probably how a wacko like her got knocked up in the first place. I don't even mind the super-short hair in some of the shots.
  2. pop-up campers do tend to have small wheels to keep the step-up manageable. I'd keep it under 70mph for sure. With sway, my strategy is always to have room and ability to accelerate. Nothing straightens out a trailer like flooring it or a few seconds. Then just slow gradually.
  3. The players and coaches signed agreements (contracts) that said they would abide by the NCAA's rules. Then they violated those rules. Whether or not the rules are moronic or not is irrelevant - it's a contract violation, and all parties preemptively agreed that the NCAA gets to decide the penalty.
  4. If you want the players to be accountable and give a shit about not breaking NCAA rules, make THEM pay back their scholarship benefits if they violate the rules. I might even go so far as suggesting that the University should be able to sue the athletes for lost revenue during the penalty period (i.e. if OSU has a record that would have granted a bowl appearance, but they're ineligible; the players who caused that ineligibility pay expectant damages in that amount. Of course the University's own negligence with their compliance department would be factored in as well, so the players would never be on the hook for more than half.)
  5. you're at around half capacity, so the transmission should be fine unless you're doing prolonged hill-climbs. A trans cooler or even just a temp gauge on the trans would give you some peace of mind. check into how much weight you can tow w/o trailer brakes though. That's really what limits many vehicles. i was researching this for towing bikes. the 4 cylinder version of my wife's cute-ute is rated for 1,000 lbs. The 6 cylinder version is rated for 1,000 lbs. w/o trailer brakes, but 2,000 with trailer brakes.
  6. let me know if anyone's talking shit about me. (seriously tho, I'm not opposed to becoming a "supporter," I just never bothered.)
  7. I'm glad at least SOME people get it. The vast majority of people on this site have been pretty intelligent about things. I nearly lost my mind trying to explain logic to people on Facebook the other day... I hate that this woman probably got away with killing her daughter, but if they'd convicted her, it would have shaken the foundation of our judicial system. The government can imprison you without proving that you committed a crime? No thanks.
  8. Just do a coolant flush to be sure everything's kosher there. If it's been more than a year, it can't hurt anyway. I run distilled water and water wetter, and my bike only sees 220 after it's been on the track for 20 minutes, and I slow to pit speeds. Otherwise it stays around 200, even at 15,000 RPM. Granted, I'm going a lot faster, so there's more air coming through the radiator, but I'm also probably at triple the RPM... Water Wetter is NOT anti-freeze, so you'll need to flush the system again in November; but it's not like distilled water is expensive...
  9. I agree. the class project was about accuracy; not outright distance. I am told it will be capable of MUCH greater distances with additional weight, and some tweaks to the release hook. But especially if I have to test it in my neighborhood, 75 feet and a tennis ball is plenty as a starting point. 300 feet and cue ball will come later
  10. the internet. Sill's Honda has some very limited stuff in stock. maybe chain lube, etc. Their gear selection is limited to helmets though. I use walmart oil, but then again I change mine every 2-4 days of riding, so it doesn't really get a chance to degrade that much...
  11. BUMP - still have a Qualifier rear taking up space in my garage. No reasonable offer refused. I'll ship if you don't mind covering the actual cost of shipping. I will also have a Q2 rear available either 7/16 or 8/1. $50, kind of firm on that one, because I am changing it out early to mount new rubber for Summit Point. Both are 180/55/17's, so they'll fit pretty much any modern 600.
  12. More "load" info. 20 lbs of weight yielded 75 foot tosses of the tennis ball. I will have to check the clearance for large weights, but some modifications to fit more weight should be easy enough
  13. i skipped a few pages, so hopefully not a repost. SOME IMAGES MAY BE SLIGHTLY "NWS" (there's an ass-shot, and some bikini stuff) http://www.caseyanthonypics.com
  14. It uses standard weight plates from a home gym - or so I was told. i have a few, but not a ton. Not sure how much they used when they originally threw tennis balls. I'll try to find out more. **edit - went to call my brother, and realized i had a voice mail from Monday. "it will throw 50-75 yards, but we weren't using much weight at all. it can definitely throw a LOT further." I'm thinking I'll put this sucker together tonight, and then if it's possible to bring it to Nelson next weekend, we can all launch some stuff a good ways into the infield.
  15. we've fostered two coonhounds, and the only thing that kind of got on my nerves about them was their need to bark at squirrels after they'd "treed" them. I'd bring the dog inside, and then the next time we went back out (hours or even a day later), the coonhound will run directly back to where it last saw the squirrel But both of ours were really gentle. Almost timid around kids, like they were worried they'd accidentally bump into them and hurt them.
  16. if he's really looking to track a bike, get any decent-running 600cc bike and go ride... An SV650 is a better LEARNING tool, but that can make it very frustrating at trackdays, where you get motored a lot. A 954 is far from ideal... It's not a slam against those bikes, but the 600's are going to be easier to go fast on. There's basically 3 ways to go with this: - ride your street bike on the track - buy a CHEAP track bike (my F2 was like $1500) and plan to upgrade at some point (I rode mine about a year, and sold it for a profit) - spend $5k or a little more, and buy an '07 or newer 600 that's already set up or the track, and plan to ride it for a long time. the only way a 954, or a 1000, or a 750, etc. should make its way into that plan is if it's option #1, "ride your street bike."
  17. great place to ride, isn't it? My brother just moved to Seattle a few months ago, and he has been riding a ton. Pacific Raceway looks like a pretty cool track too.
  18. He hasn't said that it's a track bike yet. Some people like modding their street bikes beyond street performance. Lots of car owners do the same thing. I don't understand it, but I'm not going to knock it. Without street riders, half the parts manufacturers for track days and racing wouldn't be able to sustain themselves financially. Anyone who likes the track ought to be in love with the street riders keeping our vendors afloat.
  19. I really like the bike, but I think you're going to have to find a buyer who is in love with the Ducati name to get what you want for it. The street rider in me looks at it and thinks, "that's a cool bike for $7k. No one else will have one at bike night, work, etc." The track rider look at it though and thinks, "I could buy a 2007 R6 for $5k and it will be way faster than that! Then I can use the extra $2k to go racing all summer!"
  20. that's why i'm curious about the application. quick shifters are designed for use at wide-open-throttle, and it's only going to save a tenth or two in a run from 0-100 mph... Traction control is expensive, and while it's useful on ultra high-powered bikes, I think it's better, and cheaper to just learn better throttle control. Or just buy a less powerful bike...
  21. Enjoy sexism, because a guy probably would have gotten a ticket.
  22. Are you modding this as a street bike, as a drag bike, for road racing, etc.? All of those things CAN be done, but some are more useful than others, and some (traction control, on a 954?) are just going to cost you a lot of money.
  23. got some updated info from a friend of a friend. All it really adds to the story is that the accident occurred approximately half way down the back straight, after Turn 4. (track map here http://www.calabogiemotorsports.com/display28) As the name on the map suggests, T4 is "easy," and it's basically WOT through there. The guy who came upon the accident said he came around the bend and saw 4 bikes and 4 bodies laying motionless in the middle of the track :-/ 'bogie staff will have riders pull off the track under some red-flag situations to get the ambulance rolling sooner. I have to believe they did that here...
