  1. under-tail exhaust and remove the stupid pointless mirrors, and it's just about perfect.
  2. (p.s. a ton of these do not look like they could possibly be real.)
  3. do you get anything for them using your screen-shot? like a t-shirt or a bumper sticker or something?
  4. until I saw that it was in the "firearms" forum, I was expecting wedding pics.
  5. ^ pics or it didn't happen. But even you said, you ENTERED the contest. That's what kills me about the morons who get scammed thinking they won the Turkish lottery. Don't you think you'd have to ENTER the motherfucking Turkish lottery to win it? Taking money from people is wrong, but finding people dumb enough to give it away seems somehow less sinister (unless they're legitimately mentally handicapped or something).
  6. Dear Ms. Clark, With the popularity of Craigslist scams, I'm sure you can understand my skepticism. With that in mind, I'm going to need for you to visit my website at www.gofuckyourself.com and/or enter (or email me) your full name, date of birth, address, social security number, blood type, pets' names, favorite sexual positions, name of first boyfriend, paternal grandfather's preferred brand of cigarette, and the following randomly generated confirmation code: B10WmEw4oRE After confirming your confirmation and verifying your identity, I would be thrilled to claim my Macbook (valued at $1199). Eat a dick, and hugs and kisses, -Chris
  7. how much horsepower is a $200 dyno tune going to buy me? For that price, I probably need the seat time more than the additional power. As noted, the PO claimed 104 at the wheel. Whether or not he actually ran 87 is anyone's guess, but I have been running 87, and not noticed any rough running or knocking at all.
  8. My bike came with a power commander, and I haven't touched it. I have no clue what map is currently set, or if it "acknowledges" my exhaust system (which also came on the bike). the previous owner told me that the bike was mapped for 87 octane. Spending $800 on a full exhaust, and another $200+ just to run regular instead of premium sounds like a giant waste to me. So how hard is it to mess with my power commander? I went to the website and found where I can download the different maps. What's next? There are like 5 different download sections, and my bike/exhaust is listed more than once. I know I don't want the European maps, but what the hell do I do with the map once I download it, and why can't I download individual maps? anyone in the Cleveland area want to help me mess with this? free beer.
  9. how much does it cost? I have a PCIII and full exhaust currently mapped for 87 octane. Previous owner said it made 104 at the wheel. I figure 110 would be really doable with 93 octane, but it's a cost/benefit thing at this point... never mind
  10. definitely call TJ before buying anywhere else. By terms of their vendor agreements, he usually can't post the discounts/pricing online. 15% savings over the best price I can find online is pretty typical. When you're spending a couple hundred bucks, that adds up fast. Plus I've ordered everything from tires, to my pit-bull TRS, to piddly shit like knee pucks. EVERY TIME, TJ treats me (and my order) like I just spent 3 grand with him.
  11. reading comprehension fail. my bad. suppose it doesn't change much for his family.
  12. the runoff has gotten better since the first time I was there in 2008. Cars are always going to rut-up wet ground... Of course there are places where run-off room could be better; that's true of every track except Miller, and those Qatar circuits that are in the middle of the fucking desert. And guess what? they have dust/sand problems instead. No track is ever perfectly ideal or perfectly safe. The issues at Nelson are manageable. The best way to avoid runoff concerns is to just ride it out... "I've never found more traction in the grass than on the track." - Fred Duncan. You should never "need" to run off. Every time I've ever done so has been because I pussied out of what I should have (and could have) done.
  13. yikes. for $10,000? In his shoes, i think I would have cut a check, and apologized for talking out my ass. No matter how many times you tell the bull "it's for charity," and "he's new at this," they don't seem to get the picture!

    Found 1.85$

Agree - and even if it could hit 185mph, should we be impressed? The bike was doing all the work, and a trained monkey can hold the throttle open in 6th gear.
  15. ^ agree - not sure if it was an F4i, or an '03 600RR, but that was definitely an '01-'03 era R6 and GSXR 600. none of those are "superbikes" though. I assume that was from the World Supersport race. I'm a bit surprised the belly pan didn't catch more oil. They seemed to be relatively straight up and down when the engine blew.
  16. SOLD I have an Ibanez SR-505 with a really nice padded gig-bag. I sold my big amp a couple of years ago, and my brother has my little amp in WA, so I cannot verify with 100% certainty that it works, but I would be SHOCKED if it didn't. The bass has always been stored with the strings loose, so the neck isn't warped or bowing in the least. a few scratches on the back from my belt buckle, but otherwise in good cosmetic condition. Active electronics worked great last time I played it. I'll throw a new 9v battery in if anyone wants to give it a play. BYO amp... with the gig bag, I'd like $200, but I'm open to reasonable offers. I based my price on the going rate on eBay and Craigslist for similar models, but realistically, I'm just looking to pad my trackday budget. Show me where you can get something comparable cheaper, and I'll consider doing a "price match" of sorts. Would consider trades for: - rain tires (used, but in good condition) - possibly DOT race tires, or even Q2's (keep in mind these are only $183 a set new though). - 2000 watt generator (the quieter the better, but I'm realistic about what i'll get in the $200 range) - maybe tire warmers? - track credits with NESBA - firearms? pistol, shotgun, etc. - let me know what you've got, and I'll consider it.
  17. Sparky summarized it quite well, but the horsepower numbers are what really do the talking. 2008 Kawasaki 650R = ~70hp. Top speed is a shade over 130 2008 Kawasaki ZX6-R = ~110hp. Top speed will be in excess of 150, and it will pull significantly harder from 30 mph on (which is about when the 650's torque stops mattering as much as the 600's horsepower) the suspensions will also be a lot different. the 650 class (SV and EX) has damping-rod style forks. 600's made in the 2000's and beyond have cartridge style forks, and anything made after 2005 has inverted forks to reduce un-sprung weight, and increase rigidity.
  18. are you speculating, or is this verified?
  19. Her boyfriend is in my guest room right now, and totally not mechanically inclined. No way he attempted to fix or mod anything. She also just had exhaust work done a few months ago.
  20. My wife's sister moved in with us less than a month ago, and the exhaust on her CRV was getting a little loud, so she took it to a shop. They told her that the pipe has been cut with a saw, and someone is likely trying to steal her catalytic converter to sell for parts. That sounds odd, but plausible. In any case, what do I do if I catch the fuckers in the act? She's been parking on the street, but will be in the driveway from now on. I will have to verify, but I don't think castle doctrine applies unless someone is trying to gain entry to your house, so "shoot the bastard in the leg" isn't going to cut it. Obviously I will call the police if I catch someone in the act, but I've elluded the police on foot toilet papering as a kid... It's not hard. Thoughts? Motion detector attached to a radio will make it easy to catch them in the act.
  21. anyone at the track have a weather report? pretty clear in Cleveland so far. Crossing my fingers for your guys. only 1 more hour of fucking class...
  22. or $15 a set less for Q2s
  23. repost ...for probably the second time.
  24. that's just something people say when they have to ride in the rain
  25. I didn't read the every post in the thread, so I may have skipped something that would have made your post more obviously sarcastic.
