  1. I lived in Parma Heights from age 0-4, then at 2 places in Parma from 23-32 with a year in Cleveland proper in 2007/2008 - I don't understand what you're asking. I'm right down the road from the OP now. No street bike at the moment. My next streetable bike will have to be something I can also race in F1/Supermoto with OMRL, but I'm too cheap to buy one, and would have to clean out our shed to store it I do like the 454 though. From a historic perspective, it's a cool part of the Ninja 900 development - basically half of that engine, and then later bored to 498 for the EX500 (my first bike).
  2. I hate to ruin the suspense for you, but 2nd graders aren't going to be charged. If their parents aren't properly addressing an issue, it will become a job and family services issue.
  3. Glassy eyes isn't a test, just an indicator. There are 3 standard test, and they are actually shockingly accurate at detecting intoxication that can be corroborated by BAC. One leg stand, walk and turn, and the HGN (follow the pen with your eye) test are the only things actually measuring impairment. Search the NHTSA guidelines online and do the tests at home yourself with a home breathalyzer. The tests aren't arbitrary.
  4. It's been a while since I have looked up the exact standard, but by memory, I believe officers must only have a reasonable suspicion of intoxication or impairment to administer field sobriety tests - plus you agree to submit to them when you accept your Ohio driver's license - but the odor of alcohol is likely enough on its own to warrant the tests. The officer will also note glassy eyes, any slurred or slow speech, etc. An admission that the driver has consumed any amount of alcohol is almost definitely enough. If you're ever afraid of field sobriety tests, don't drive. Uber is way cheaper than an OVI. 2 Ubers (one to get back to your car the next morning before work) is still about a thousand times cheaper than an OVI.
  5. Okay, but that's not what "zero tolerance" means. Blowing .020 is not, on its own, enough evidence to sustain a conviction for OVI - there must also be a showing of actual impairment, either in the person's driving, or based on their performance of field sobriety tests. The same is NOT true at .080 or greater - that is where the legislature draws the line and says "you're automatically impaired at .080"
  6. Characterizing it as a "zero tolerance law" is incorrect. The State still needs to demonstrate impairment. That can be from alcohol, marihuana, whip-its, helium, heroin - anything that fits the legal definition of "under the influence of alcohol or drugs."
  7. This is a 'weld bolt' inside the frame rail. How confident are you?
  8. I need to get my diet in order. Been bettwr about working out, but drinking too much. Stronger, but pudgier.
  9. yeah, if you work this right, you could actually save money!
  10. My other thought was a small wire brush that would fit on my dremel. having trouble finding one small enough though...
  11. I don't know what size the bolt holes are though... I have had a hell of a time finding a corolla parts fiche to look up anything. The hitch installs using the mounting points for the rear tow hooks.
  12. perhaps a "thread chaser" instead?
  13. I found a used hitch for $40 on CL and picked it up. 4-bolt installation, but the nuts welded to the frame of the car are rusted to shit. I can't get the bolts to thread. I have tried penetrating oil and WD40 with a tooth brush, but I'm not getting up in there very far. Any suggestions? I'm getting close to buying a tap and die set and new hardware, but with nuts welded in place, and a setup that needs to withstand a couple thousand pounds of force, I'm a little hesitant to go that route.
  14. I want to shoot all of the guns. A&A no longer allows trash shooting, but I think they still rent out the "sportsman" range for $200/day. It's literally right around the corner from Nelson Ledges. If any MotoSeries rounds survive the ownership change, I will see if we can't work out a time to shoot and then go watch some racing. Maybe shoot saturday afternoon, camp/drink at the track on saturday, and watch Sunday races for a bit. Participate in as much or as little of that as you like. I only need 3 or 4 people to join me at the range for it to be worth the money.
  15. Finally shot the G19 at lunch. It's weird to load 15 rounds when you're used to loading 8 at a time. I am recoil sensitive. I feel like a pussy admitting that, but I flinch badly on my first shot. I also grip too tightly, and try to "hold the gun down" rather than just letting the muzzle flip a bit. Relaxing and letting the gun jump yielded my best groupings (after an initial shitty shot where I anticipate recoil). I liked everything about the glock except the way the trigger guard digs into my middle-finger on my dominant hand. I adjusted my grip to avoid this, and it actually improved my shooting, because I couldn't hold on so tightly. Need more practice with it. Better buy one
  16. Does a 250 even drop below 5th gear at Nelson? I would be interested in that if there is a decent turnout for that class. Problem is finding a 2008+ model for cheap. need the 17" wheels to be competitive.
  17. The corners come up a lot more often when you're on a smaller track. Plus shitty drum brakes don't respond (at all) to soft gentle touches!
  18. Looking at the FB page, apparently the schedule has been removed, as has Todd's post about the sale.
  19. Perhaps I should have limited this thread to "projects that you started by choice, not necessity." hahahaha I have never really thought of pickups as an option, although some utility to go along with a "fun" car would make it more practical. Wife might be the biggest obstacle there though. She didn't like my last truck. I have tortured myself by finding stuff like this:
  20. Problem is you have to cycle for a long time to get a decent workout. I love row machines, but I rub my tail bone raw on them.
  21. probably not the U.S. There are a couple of indoor kart tracks that allow bikes. One in michigan does. You have to have low-powered bikes though, to keep the speeds down. The barriers are just too close to allow anything more than a 110(ish) bike.
  22. Looks like every other MotoGP bike. I like the flat black and flat white decals, but that's probably only for testing. Those are probably the "B" bikes anyway. I don't know why else they would have rains mounted for a photo shoot.
  23. I would have loved it if they just bombed them all with pepper spray. that shit's no joke. Would make me think twice before being an idiot...
  24. I don't focus on "riding exercises" per se, but I do focus on muscular endurance rather than mass-building. My knees kind of hurt periodically anyway, so that's part of it for me, but I tend to spend a good 10 minute stretching, and then I never do fewer than 15 reps. 25 is preferable. Much lower weight than most other people at the gym. To me, that simulates a race condition more than doing a 10 rep max at higher weight. I typically do dumbell lunges (15 per leg, working up in weight until I can't complete the set), then some ab stuff to rest my legs, then calf raises, then abduction and adduction machines, then more abs, then squats to end the workout. I will do 45-135 lbs. "drop-sets" where I do up to 50 reps, rack the bar, peal off some weight, and then go until failure at the reduced weigh. When I can't squat the bar anymore, I stretch more (vomit?) and go home. On days I'm feeling less intense, I will do the quad extension machine instead of the squats, but even on that, I try to do lower weight and focus on going slow and holding my legs in the extended position. I make 100 lbs. reps look really difficult even though I can probably do just as many reps at 200 lbs. with less deliberate form. Again, riding is more about holding your body weight in a controlled manner, so i like to think form is more important than mass.
