  1. Just wondering, what if you DID make doctors on the assembly line? Or what if you just made the Doc's and Nurses employees of the "state" Heyyyyy.....wait a minute....THAT sounds like Germany. Health care is free over there, dontcha know.... What does health care for everyone cost in Germany? Employee contribution - 7%-8% Employer Contribution - 8% Maximum out of pocket per covered individual 5,200 Euro. Doctors are by and large "state" employees, although due to the burdens on the system the "state" is now training Doctors to become "entrepreneurs" and take "paying" customers. There's also a big push to get the "wealthy" people into "private" insurance. Yeah...that free health care really IS free.
  2. Besides the fact that its a "Daily Show" post, I think you're comparing apples and oranges. Lets deal with the first part of that statement...The Daily Show...Comedy Central...John Stewart....Funny Guy....wraps it all up by saying Glen Beck is talking out his ass, everyone laughs. Apples and Oranges...while we don't have everything Beck said (it was cut for comedic effect), we have what would appear on the surface to be diametrically opposed views - health care in America sucks, and We have the greatest health care in the world. (I'm telling you, one trip to a hospital in a foreign country will tell you that we do have the best system in the world. I've been there, and I don't ever want to go again.) Those two statements don't have to be mutually exclusive. If you saw the entire piece (not just the comedy version) I think you'd have found that the driving force in the discussion (from the CNN Days) was that faceless insurance companies are making patient related decisions that should be made by doctors. The plan now is to let faceless Washington bureaucrats (well known for inefficiency and fiscal irresponsibility) make those kind of decisions. That's supposed to improve patient care? Puh-lease.... I think most people would agree that the financial end of the health care equation is way fucked up, but the people on the ground, giving care (doctors and nurses) are by and large doing their best. In the name of saving money and resources (due to large malpractice awards from juries, lack of true competition among insurance companies, cost of care to those who cant pay, dwindling medicare payments to providers, etc.) the quality of care has been reduced. The question is "how do we fix the part that's broken, without fucking up the part that works?"
  3. Now thats the "that dude" that everyone loves
  4. Well, I DID post a witty cartoon to prove a point I know...you beat me to the punch on that one
  5. Yeah...I was thinking more like when you look in the mirror, but hey, if that works for you... Why did you edit the "she likes it" post. That showed far more insight.
  6. I don't care WHO you are...that's some funny shit right there. Hey...its the interwebs. That's probably been up there for days! Now, where's my rep???
  7. And coming from a guy who has a picture of a chick being forced to lick a toilet seat. Yup, you ought to know fucktard when you see it.
  8. Didn't anyone tell the liberals that they shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them??? The BEST part is, they got ANOTHER office in Brooklyn to fall for the gag too.... Sad part is they've received over $53,000,000 in TAXPAYER funds since 1994.
  9. My apolo........ Whoops - never mind. I recieved an email from the Newly Anointed "Race Card" Czar Kanye West, and was informed that the size of your, well you know, doesn't count. My apologies.
  10. Now now.... Are you qualified to say that? As near as I can tell, you have to have one or more of the following qualifications: The player of the race card must be black, or of a mixed race background. The player of the race card must currently be on a federal or state assistance program. The player of the race card must have voted for a democrat or liberal candidate for the last 5 election cycles. (if you didn't vote, you're still allowed to play the race card based on how you would have voted) The player of the race card can not be a "nerdy old white guy" - period. If you've met any of these qualifications, then you're permitted and I apologize. Hopefully the chosen one will get his socialist agenda rammed through congress in time for you to get free health care to make up for it.
  11. Fixed it for ya. That's what you meant to say, right?
  12. Keep me posted - maybe I'll drag the kid out to Nelson or Beaver. Let me know if you need any help.
  13. Don't worry, it'll happen before its all said and done. Be patient.
  14. Nice write up, and congrats on being on the box. No shame in running with the likes of Stokes. He's fast for sure (and I nice guy too). Whats next for ya?
  15. Well, it had to happen sooner or later. Honestly, I'm surprised that it took this long, but not surprised who said it. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/opinion/13dowd.html?_r=1
  16. I was in DC for the festivities this weekend. One thing is for sure - there are a LOT of pissed off people in this country. As those in power continue to usurp the Constitution this movement will only get bigger.
  17. My guess is that its coming from the community organizer on the left.
  18. Keep that attitude. Prayers for you.
  19. Well, he GOT to college anyway. Yup...whiter than sour cream
  20. Amen. The key here is that no "proof of citizenship" is required to gain access to the health care system (in HR3200). If you don't have to prove citizenship, its very easy to scam the system. So, in the final analysis HR3200 doesnt specifically provide health care to illegal immigrants, but it doesn't rule it out.
  21. Ahhh...the Huffington Post....another bastion of information for the liberal left. Oddly enough, $864B WONT finance BHO's health plan. You're about $50B short - and thats WITH the $600B or so that he wants to take OUT of medicare payouts (but you seniors don't worry - he's not going to "mess with medicare" - that's not a LIE, because BHO says it isn't) Oh and by the way, I didn't have to send the gardener home early yesterday. I'm going to re-coup the $1,000.00 I sent to Rep. Wilson by taking the BMW to Washington this weekend instead of the Jet.
  22. Yeah yeah...old, nerdy white guy.
