  1. I was gonna, but it said I had to spread some around first. You KNOW that what she was thinking, but I was meaning what you said. Some people are sooooo wrapped up in that shit....
  2. We went over there on a lie, right?
  3. I guess Iraq got that free health care you love so much on a lie too? Interesting double standard there. Can't you find a cartoon to post?
  4. "Real Talk" Are you kidding me. It was already proven in the "other thread" that you have NO desire to have any type of "real talk". Do I detect a bit of penis envy? I mean, for a chick, you sure do talk about cocks and balls a lot. Ass hat? I see you subscribe to the typical "progressive" thought process. of those people. When you run out of intelligent things to say, call them a name. Like "old nerdy white guy" Or "Nazi". Come on, you can do better.... You know you want to say it.... Go ahead...it'll make you feel better.
  5. How many people did Obama save today? How many people did our current health care system save today? Hey, it works for you people. Figured I'd take a page out of your book. Tit for tat, right - both of you are good at that. You of all people should understand that - what, with being down-trodden and all.
  6. You mean bad form, like when Obama lied? Or do you mean bad form when Obama said he was going to "call people out" Or maybe it was bad form when Obama called a member of the Cambridge Police Dept. "stupid" Or maybe it was bad form when Nancy Pelosi called the townhall protesters "Nazi's" Or maybe it was bad form when Barney Frank compared a constituent to his dining room table? Maybe it was bad form when every democrat in the room booed Bush during the 2005 State of the Union Address? Oh yeah...THATS ok, your side was dishing out the shit.
  7. What, no witty cartoon? Bad form for Joe to call it like he sees it? I think not. I sent him $1,000.00 today.
  8. This is a college graduate? We're fucked.
  9. Oh boy...you really stepped in it again Long on ideas, short on substance and specifics. The public option is obviously still there, and isnt going away. (Of course, we already have the public options with medicare medicaid and the VA but they're not run very well.) Which is disappointing. I really believe that if the public option is in there at all, it wont be long until its the ONLY option. That's already been proven as way to not improve health care. The idea of "exchanges", if they work the way they do for congress might not be a bad thing in the long run. If I could buy insurance for my employees at the same price as the big guys, it would certainly be a benefit. I don't think he said enough regarding tort reform. This adds a huge amount to the "real" cost of health care. As with any business you have to cover your fixed costs first, and this is a HUGE one - all because a Doctor makes a "mistake". The awards from juries are criminal. I also don't see how he's going to fund it long term. Granted, there's a lot of waste and fraud that could be removed from the existing "public options" but there doesn't seem to be enough there to fund it (nearly $1 Billion a year needed for his plan). He also didn't talk much about increasing competition among insurers by allowing insurance companies to compete across state lines. I think this would definitely reduce costs to those of us already insured. If he talked about portability, I must have missed it. This is also a key issue for those that are already insured - especially if you change jobs or lose a job. Anyone ever tried to cover themselves with Cobra? Wow - those prices will make you shit your fucking pants. If the purpose of his speech was to tell congress to work together and come up with something that everyone can live with, then it was a good thing. If his attitude is "gimme something to sign by Thanksgiving" then it was not a good thing. The whole Kennedy Tribute at the end was a bunch of bullshit. Lets say more good things about some drunk shitbag who killed a girl 40 years ago on walked on the whole thing. Yeah THATS America. In the end, I think time will tell, and we'll see what congress comes up with. One thing for sure, he certainly wasn't talking about HR3200. If he was, he was lying through his teeth.
  10. Some Congressmen think that as our debt increases, so does our wealth. If you dont believe this guy, he'll "throw you out the window. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjbPZAMked0
  11. Your second link answered your first question. Our future economic policy is "print more worthless money". The dollar is shit these days on the world market in terms of buying power. In the mid 90's the company I worked for imported machinery from Italy and German. At that point in time I could buy 1.83 DM for a dollar. Things were great - there were 30 people working there making good money. Soon after, Germany went to the Euro and now I could buy 1.00 Euro for a dollar. Problem is, my pricing ended up being based on 1.00 DM = 1.00 Euro also. My company's buying power was cut in half. Its even worse today - right now your dollar only gets you .69 Euros. I got out in 2000 when the getting was good. There are currently 9 people working for that company now. Its only gonna get worse - wait till we start paying for health care for everyone!

You cant teach the unteachable. I thought you'd be supportive of that comment. I mean, that's basically what you said in that last thread.

Wow...she was on the news every day when the other dude was president. Why not now? Hey, I know...she protesting a black president. She (along with the media and every old geeky white dude) MUST be racist.
  14. My opinion still stands. I have zero respect for the man because of his values. His values have been shown by his disdain for the constitution and the people he surrounds himself with. Nothing in his speech today did anything to change that - why would my opinion change? If you want to believe that I'm a "parental failure" go ahead. I'm confident that time will prove otherwise. Your opinion of my skills have no effect on me or how I'll raise my kids. Congrats though - you finally managed to play the race card. Enjoy your "white guilt" and "victim" status. Why don't you get in the kitchen and fix a real meal instead of eating popcorn. You should still have some grub stubs left - its only the second week of the month. What idea is that? That JRMiii is a shitbag? Or that Chickon2 is a racist? Or that once again, you have nothing of value to add to the discussion? Oh....one more thing.... Post all you want - this is my LAST post in this thread. Have fun...

Wait a minute... Where's Cindy Sheehan? We're still in Iraq and Afghanistan - why is she so quiet? Oh, that's right, its only appropriate to protest a conservative president.
  16. Awww...you left out the best part of my post in your quote: There...now I feel better. Yeah...not a personal attack. That quote was from Shakespeare and appropriate for someone blathering about race without answering the questions. I can take plenty from people that actually have something to say. Obviously, you don't fit in that category.
  17. Yeah...I see him back there too - he's got his cock in your grandma's mouth. Must be hard knowing that your dad was pimping her out. I knew if it went on long enough some asshole would start with the personal attacks. Obviously, you have no facts and nothing of value to add to the discussion when you go down that road. Too bad you're white - I bet you could play the race card nicely.
  18. I've listened to what you had to say. Obviously I took some time to digest it, otherwise I wouldn't have replied. I didn't say you had a fucked up life. You're assuming that I've made assumptions that I havent made. Again, you dodge a question with more inflammatory remarks. Really, that doesn't help your position. Honestly, it has become apparent that you're not the type of person that one can have a discussion with. I'm finished.
  19. Just because I continue to offer up an alternative point of view doesn't mean I don't "listen". I'll be 46 in a couple of months. I'm guessing I'm one of the oldest guys on here.
  20. I'd say when it comes to political ideology and the values I want my kids to grow up with, you're right - my mind is pretty well made up. I've considered alternative views, and I've disposed of them. I did not get where I am today by living only yesterday. I've made these decisions over 45 years of living on this planet. Unlike others, my kids aren't an "experiment" for those whose moral values are different from mine. As time goes by, and my kids are grown and gone from the house I'm quite certain that they'll think differently than I do about a lot of subjects. That's the way it goes. My opinions on this subject are the only ones that make sense to ME. If they don't make sense to you, that's cool - they don't have to. I'm not here to change anyone's mind, make them believe what I do, or live the way I live. I offer my perspective on these issues often times only to show that an alternative view is out there. On occasion, I'll play the devil's advocate just to get a rise out of people, but most of the time what you get is my pure unadulterated feelings on a particular subject. If you think those feelings are meant to spread fear, or force others to think like I do, you're sadly mistaken. Truth be told, I could give a rat's ass what other people think about what I think. Racial inequality? Are you kidding me? Do you honestly think that you could be HALF of what you are here anywhere else on this planet? Would your life truly be better if you were living in a hovel somewhere in Africa? Each person (not people, not a class of people, not a race of people) control their own destiny. Specifically answer questions? If you typically answer questions the way you answered any of the ones I posed to you I'm not surprised you get the reaction you described. Did you ever think that playing the race card helps to perpetuate the problem? I believe it does. Stand up, take responsibility for your actions, admit your short-comings or mistakes and move on with your life. Chances are most of the shit you've fucked up in your life has NOTHING to do with being black. What annoys me is the lack of personal responsibility and accountability. People blame their problems on all sorts of things - race, weight, social status, financial position - everything is something or someone else's fault. Bullshit. Stand up and be responsible. Yes, we see things differently. I've made my mistakes in life and I know who is responsible - ME. You've made your mistakes in life and you think your race is responsible. That's that.
  21. Fear nothing, eh? That's good. Although I doubt as a parent you have "no fears". I never said that I was afraid my kids would be "brainwashed" by the speech. Honestly my daughter is too busy watching what's going on around her to pay attention to the speech, and my son...well, he's a 14 year old boy - he already knows EVERYTHING. Based on the "suggested reading" material that was released when the speech was announced it appeared that he was going to use this opportunity to further promote his socialist agenda. I don't fear that my kids will turn out to be drug addicts, but I dont let them hang out with drug dealers either. Problems with kids happen when you let one thing slide when your kids are at that impressionable age. You justify it, reason it out, try to be open minded and that ONE thing go by. That first thing leads to the second thing, and the third thing....the next the you know they're doing stuff you dont know about with people you don't know. I dont want to look at one of my kids in jail or in a casket and say "where did I go wrong?".
