Progressive style springs, what why do they go in?
Todd#43 replied to fireman_343's topic in Tech and Tips
I'm going to assume that you've tried all the standard channels for springs for that bike? I think the stock spring was a 4.0, how much do you weigh? -
Ummmm...I know I'm old, and maybe I dont see too well, but it sure looks to me like Illinois BORDERS Kentucky, and Arkansas doesn't. Wanna pull up the google map and tell me which one is closer?? You're a moron.
-
He's already got books published. They're not comedies either. Obamaism as a religion is the overall tone of them. Which is scarier?

The democrats in congress have had the power for quite some time now. What has changed?
-
Yeah....kinda funny, isn't it? I mean all the democrats that won house and senate seats two years ago haven't done a thing they promised, yet the current situation is the Republican Party's fault. http://www.gallup.com/poll/111937/Congress-Returns-Mostly-Disapproving-Constituency.aspx

Hello Pot, meet Kettle. Birds of a feather.

Let me help you: Last May, he claimed that Kansas tornadoes killed a whopping 10,000 people “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12. Explaining why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois? in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Obama showed off his knowledge of the war in Afghanistan by honing in on a lack of translators: “We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then it’s harder for us to use them in Afghanistan.” The real reason it’s “harder for us to use them” in Afghanistan: Iraqis speak Arabic or Kurdish. The Afghanis speak Pashto, Farsi, or other non-Arabic languages. Then, there’s the copy of Life magazine that Obama presents as his racial awakening at age 9. In it, he wrote, was an article and two accompanying photographs of an African-American man physically and mentally scarred by his efforts to lighten his skin. In fact, the Life article and the photographs don’t exist, say the magazine’s own historians. "Let's not play games. I was suggesting - you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my muslim faith" "I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment -- this was the time -- when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals." (From an obama speach) I could go on, but you get the picture. "King of the Internet Searches"....I don't think so.

So, because he "corrected" himself after saying them cancels them out? I only listed two, but there are PLENTY more. Search for them yourself.

And we all know Obama didn't show his ass on the campaign trail How about these: “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 States " or In front of a roaring Sioux Falls, South Dakota audience, Obama exulted: “Thank you Sioux City…I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.” yeah...he's a genius all right. Don't even get me started on Biden.

You said you already had preload adjustment on the suspension. I seriously doubt that there is more than one available for that fork. It would be good to know how much to start with, but as long as those springs are, combined with the fact that they're progressive, means you'll either have to get some data from someone that knows that set up or prepare for some trial and error work. For what its worth, I'm not a big fan of progressive springs on a race bike. Most bikes are set up with a straight rate spring, making your set up and adjustments much easier. -
If you'd read my earlier thread, you'd know I'm not having much success viewing streaming video on my current computer. I don't really think I missed much because once Carlin got past the 7 words you can't say on television, I didn't really find his hippy culture comedy all that funny. Anyway, you obviously think she wasn't qualified. Care to share how you formed that opinion?
-
I disagree. She has served as the governor of a state, the mayor of a city, and held several other positions within the state government. I think that qualifies her to be the Vice President. You lost all your credibility when you tried to tell everyone how much money was too much. Really dude, if all you can do is sling a personal attack as opposed to adding something to the discussion, fuck off

The spacer needs to be long enough to get the proper preload. You'll have to install the springs with a longer than needed spacer, check your front sag, then adjust the length of the spacer. Doesn't have to be anything fancy - just make sure its one piece. PVC pipe will work if you've got nothing else. -

Typically, there should be something between the adjuster and the spring. What does HRC say? -
Ok, so 88% of black voters voted democrat in the 2004 election. I'm going to assume that the rest of your numbers refer to the percentage of blacks that voted for the other candidates. I'm guessing that it was higher than that for OBama, only because he's half black.

The "tube" is a spacer that's used to adjust the preload on a bike that doesnt have adjustable preload. If you dont have that adjustment, your preload is going to be whatever it is. -
Why???? Jesus fucking christ. Lets start with your numbers for Kerry. You said "the 88% majority that voted for John Kerry" what are you referring to? The percentage of the popular vote that he received? Explain that one first, then we'll move on to the others.
-
Yeah, I'm seeing a trend here too. You're numbers are fucked. If you really believe those numbers, I suggest you run....quickly to Canada. We dont want you and your tinfoil hat here.
-
So, apparently you think she wasn't. Big deal. I need to know where you stand on this - Is Obama "qualified" to be president?
-
Yes, I think she was. The Secretary of State's job is quite a bit different than the VP's though. I'm not overly impressed with Rice - and it has nothing to do with her being a woman, or with her being black. Again, she's more qualified than the current pick.

What are you putting these in? It comparing the length of the two springs, it looks as though you wont have any room for a preload spacer. -
there's no doubt that she's a very smart lady. I don't know that she's supremely qualified for the job though. On that point I dont think Hillary is qualified at all.
-
I'd say that since obama is half black, he would have rather had a black woman on his cabinet as opposed to a white woman. I'd say it could go either way...
-
No, I think it can be done in the house and the senate. Bush doesn't have anything to do with it.
