  1. Very small town and the town center was 2 blocks away. On the way in, we smelled BBQ - so off we went in search of the source... This was it, a small bar downtown.... Dead animal heads on the wall, so it's gotta be good...
  2. Saddled up with my bud Neil and headed west earlier this month. My friend from Ireland had planned to go but tore his rotator cuff and was out at the last minute. ShittyGixer pussied out out as well, citing school and a general lack of any balls as his reason not to go. Ahh well, we all have our reasons to do and not do stuff. Anyway, I left Indy at 0300 to beat the heat a bit and met up with Neil in St. Louis (he's from Chicago). made it as far as Lawrence, Kansas and the 115F heat was wearing on us. So we packed it in at about 2:00 PM and fell into a hotel there. Nice enough place, but a bit weird...

I'll be shooting video this year - someone please give me a heads up when we approach Ben's ass so I can shut the camera off. Thanks.
  4. The hard bags are Givi aftermarkets - not unusual as Ducati sold the Paso as a sports tourer. These bikes were turds though and this one isn't underpriced. Had pretty dodgy electrics and a host of other issues related to not so great build quality of Ducs back then. Unless it's the bike you've always wanted, give it a miss. 900SS that same out in the mid 90's is a much better bike and a better buy for older Ducs.
  5. Knoxville, TN if it was in the east and Ouray, CO if it was in the west.
  6. Saw it at the Indy Dealer show about 3 years ago. Price was like $150 then - way too much. Plus, it just didn't get dark enough for me.
  7. I'm on a war relics forum and they have some guys that will help you. Take as many close, clear pics as you can and then post them in the appropriate section of the forum. Go here: http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/index.php I'd post in this section;http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/docs-paper-items-photos-propaganda/ They can give you an idea of value and of places to sell it if you're so inclined. There is also a classifieds section where you can list it for sale if you wish. Best of luck with it.
  8. Yup - and have your up to date insurance card as well. Hi viz vest or jacket would help too.
  9. If you have the time, might as well head through Deal's Gap area and then northern Georgia on the way south. I'd ride highways to the Lexington, KY area and then head south parallel to I-75, but to the east of it. 52 east out of Richmond is good and then head south on Route 11. Smooth road with loads of sweepers in it. Always fun. 11 South to 25E and take that south to Morristown, TN. Then west on I-40 for a short bit to 441 south. Follow that to Cherokee. Takes you through Gatlinburg - which can suck big time if there's traffic. But ya gotta get south of it somehow. Goes right through Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park. Then hit Route 64 to Hiawasee, GA. Right at the beginning of the best roads of the north Georgia mountains. South on 76 to Route 180 - head west. Looks like a goat path in a couple of spots, but leads you over to Route 129 - take that south over Blood Mountain. Windy assed road with two lanes on the uphill side and one going down. One of my favorite roads in the USA. Given the time, do The Loop - 129 South to 19 West to 60 North to Suches and then 180 east back over to 129. Only takes about an hour, but it's fantastic. After this, just head towards Atlanta and then on to Columbus via Highways. It gets a bit flat after Atlanta. No good way to avoid the city without adding a shit ton of miles either. If ya do it over a weekend, let me know as I'd be happy to go along to at least northern Georgia. And then maybe we could meet up on your way back. Enjoy!
  10. Nope - there's 42 one dollar bills on it. All in numerical sequence with the serial numbers. Some stripper ass crack stain on them would have been cooler though.
  11. Welcome! Had two roommates in college from "Blair" - crazy fuckers. Introduced me to the word "yuns" which I believe was a contraction of "you uns" which was the vernacular for "you ins". Never did figure out what the fuck they were talking about.
  12. HD riders put those on their bike so they can tell if they're moving or not. If the tassels aren't moving, it reminds them to put a foot down.
  13. Always wanted that ESP! Check out my ESP "Dollar Bill" custom; Nothing screams " '80's heavy metal" any louder
  14. I was hoping to see a "No Harleys" sign.
  15. I travel into Ohio often and could pick it up. I'll PM what kind of $$ I was thinking to you.
  16. I have this one as well. I place it on a rubber mat in the bed of my truck - not bolted down at all and use tie downs with a cup style canyon dancer. The chock just keeps the wheel from turning and keeps the wheel from damaging the bed of the truck, (a wheel might bend the back of the bed if you tie it down too tightly). Get it at Harbor Freight for under $50 when it's on sale. Works great and I've hauled bikes all over the place with this set up.
  17. I might buy it as is for a table that I'd like to make for the shop. Let me know what ya want for it.
  18. Not entirely true - if the AL is made in different shapes that add strength without bulk, then the weight savings can be substantial. But you're spot on about the price - they're spendy. I have an all Al trailer and have used it for about 15 years, light as shit and pulls great. Have used it behind Ford Taurus' and have had no issues at all. Can't even feel it behind my F-150.
  19. With a smaller car, I'd avoid the wood decked trailers (wood weighs a ton) and look at all aluminum construction. Aluminum weighs half of steel and yet costs twice as much...as a rule of thumb. Wheels: bigger diameter is better, avoid the little 10" jobbies unless you're hauling short distances.
  20. Congrats to her! Now the real work begins. Not like ya just get a job because you have a degree. Help her and support her all ya can and she'll do well.
  21. Fuck OSU - go OU! My Alma mater has sucked at all sports for so long that it's no longer funny. Just once, I'd like to see OU win something....before I die.
  22. I think that's the key to making better videos - different viewing angles. One, always used, static camera location makes for some very boring video. I made a camera mount for the Kevin Schwantz Racing School that shows the rider's entire upper torso. This allowed the students to see what the instructor was doing in corners, braking locations, etc. made for some cool video (which Schwantz owns all of them, so I can't post any). Pic of the mount... Looks kinda industrial, but it had to be to cope with the high speeds they do. Thing was rock solid at 150 mph.
