  1. Hey, I saw on jbot's saturday 3/20 thread that you're from near canton and are looking to get off the highway and into some twisties. I'm finally un-garaging the bike this weekend and will probably take a spin around a route I like to ride down southeast of Canton to knock the cobwebs off, let me know if you're interested in coming along and I'll let you know if I head out that direction.

  2. Hey man, it was good to hear from ya yesterday. I'm in awe of how well you're handling everything; your situation crosses my mind more or less every day and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be holding up nearly as well as you are if I were your place. I'll shoot you a text later this week and let you know when I'll be back in town if you still need help with any of the stuff you mentioned yesterday. You should post up a pic of your exhaust and see if anyone can pop that dent out. I know there are a few people here with experience disassembling and reassembling cans that can probably get that thing right without much effort. Also, that's a damn slick car. If that's not an example of making the best of a shitty situation, I don't know what is.
  3. Only if I can leave your yard and come back and do it 12 or 13 times in a row
  4. I try to wave whenever I think to, but I forget a lot I do hate riding past those huge lines of Harley riders though. I feel like a douche if I don't wave, but I feel like a clown hanging my left hand out for a good 30-45 seconds while they all go by. Who the hell needs to organize a group ride to go in a straight line anyway?! I never wave to scooters. Mostly because the only ones I see are out around campus, and most of those people have no idea what a wave means. I kinda want to get creative with my waving this year. Maybe stand up and break out into a Macarena or possibly a big gay YMCA whenever I pass the ZZ Top harley wannabe, and maybe a "YEAH BRO NICE GIXXER"-style fist bump whenever I pass a squid rocking the sandals and shorts.
  5. OSU campus area? I can wander over and stare at it and go "yep, it's a bike, both wheels are there...good to go"...that's about the extent of my maintenance skills How much beer will that earn me?
  6. How did you get your ticket already? I can't find em on ticketmaster. I'm almost 100% in for this show; I saw DT and Yes at Blossom a few years back and it was a killer show. Mostly depends on ticket prices and if I can have the money before they sell out :\
  7. Hooooly crap, are you kidding me? Screw that shit, nobody should ever have to deal with something like that
  8. That vid makes me want to get a job at Raising Cane's on campus and drive the delivery scooter
  9. Ah damn, I don't think I can make it then. I doubt if I'll be back by then, and I still need to do some work on the bike before it's roadworthy. If you guys go on any other rides down around there between Saturday and next weekend I'm absolutely in though
  10. What time are you heading out jbot? I'm heading home on Saturday for spring break and to finally get the bike out of the garage. I'd love to come along but I don't know when I'll be ready to roll.
  11. Sorry to hear about this Condolences to you and to his family, and thank you both for your service as police officers.

People aren't giving you shit because they enjoy bitching about how you type, it's just that it's really hard to respond to stuff that people can't understand. It's a 'help us help you' thing
  15. The Bloom Boxes are scalable as well. The systems Google and them have are massive, but according to this video (click, it's a good watch) you'll only need what looks to be about a 6"x6"x10" block of the things to power an average US home. That's just the reactive plate thingies though it seems...I'd assume at least a 50-100% increase in volume once the enclosure and operational gizmos are added on. I think Bloom Boxes would make for a great crossover invention; you could have an electric vehicle with a gas tank fueling a Bloom Box and electric motor that you can fill up like any other car. That'd be good for the inevitable period of time where the distribution system for the MIT invention is still being built. Once that infrastructure is up and running, there would be no need for gas stations anymore (with regards to these two inventions at least). Honestly what gets me most excited about this type of stuff is the prospect of finally getting off the grid. I would much rather have one of these guys powering my home and only have to have fuel trucked in every X amount of weeks or months instead of being hooked in to the power grid.
  16. I'd fix it as soon as you can. No sense in ever having your brakes be a liability considering how extremely important they are.
  17. Sounds sort of like the Bloom Box (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloom_Box). Solid state device + hydrocarbon fuel = electricity. Sounds pretty preposterous, but lots of big companies (eBay, Wal Mart, Bank of America and more) have already purchased and installed some of these things.
  18. I really need to learn a thing or two about basic electrical stuff. Looking at that picture, I couldn't point out what exactly is wrong for the life of me
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqFxTzd69b4 This is the kind of garbage that gives diesel a bad name here in the U.S. Also, extra lulz to the pissed-off looking doucheclown holding the pipe in the left of the frame. I can't tell if he's thinking "god I'm such a BADASS", or "god I can't believe I have to do this". I think we should start a betting pool: which bike will these appear on first, a Harley or a 'Busa?
  20. Is there a restriction to where you get your plates renewed? I've always done it in Cuyahoga Falls, but the bike is registered to me in Stow and I spend most of the year in Columbus. Money is tight right now, and if they try to ding me with the late fee in Cuyahoga Falls where I usually go, I'll say 'screw you' and go somewhere else if that is possible.
  21. I can't even bullshit properly
  22. You're all idiots...the right fork handles compression and the left handles rebound. Unless you're using inverted forks, then it's reversed.
