  1. Looks great. I've wanted to buy a full Zaino kit and give my bike a really deep cleaning and detailing, but I've been waiting until I have a bike worth detailing (gotta either get new plastics or a new bike next season :\)
  2. Stuff like this breaks my heart. I wonder if there is any way to 'sponsor' him to buy him some more time; he looks extremely adoptable and it's a shame that there's a deadline to save his life
  3. +1 I like to put my feet up over the passenger pegs and lean my chest on the tank when on long highway runs. I'm sure I look like an idiot/asshole, but it's so damn comfortable I just don't care
  4. I can't say if the TomTom is the best or not, but I do know that I love mine and that anyone who owns one and uses it on their bike NEEDS to go to this site and download this program: http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/ Lets you use Google Maps to plot out routes and upload them to your TomTom. I've been using this program to map rides for 2 seasons now, and I love it. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but the sheer number of good riding roads here in Ohio (and the fact that they are all just named a bunch of route numbers) is fairly overwhelming to me. Being able to sit down at my computer and piece together routes using peoples road suggestions rather than trying to do it by memory WHILE riding has been awesome And it sure as hell beats scribbling the route down on a map and taping it to my tank. Plus, all it takes is one quick glance down at the GPS and I know whether that blind turn coming up is just a gentle 60-mph sweeper or a decreasing-radius hairpin.
  5. That video was filled with great ideas. None of those awesome ideas top one that the guy who uploaded the video had though...I mean, upload a video of you and a bunch of friends riding like idiots on public roads and NOT blur out the plate numbers or anything? Fucking BRILLIANT!
  6. Good thing I don't live up within Cleveland FM range anymore, or I'd be really angry. I LOVE Maxwell's show; at 3pm every weekday that show was the only thing keeping me from taking my Explorer and tearing down the sidewalks in Hudson's "downtown" district where I used to work. He was also great to listen to on my way home from work...his whining and bitching made me realize that I wasn't the only one having a shitty day Even without Maxwell though, Cleveland radio is STILL infinitely better than Columbus radio. As much as I love this city, the radio here is absolutely atrocious. Save for the few good moments on 96.3, there is absolutely no reason for anyone in or around Columbus to even OWN a radio.
  7. I actually think this is a pretty damn good idea. I'm sick of hearing about people mowing down riders while texting, driving drunk, etc and getting off with nothing but a "we'd really rather you didn't do that again, have a nice day".
  8. They aren't FORCING anyone to get skinny. They're taking a phys ed class that teaches them how they CAN be healthy, not a class that forces them to be healthy. This is a -university-, not a grade school or high school. Nobody is forced to go there. If you don't want to take this class, pick another college. Besides, it's a goddamn gym class. It's an easy A, no matter how grotesquely overweight you and your cheeto-stained fingers are.
  9. Alcohol was involved. What a big f'n surprise.
  10. It'll be interesting to see which network picks it up if ATT drops it. Unless Apple completely redesigns the phones internals, it won't be on Verizon any time soon because the iphone is a GSM device and Verizon has a CDMA network; the difference is as fundamental as gasoline and diesel.

What is the maximum resolution supported by your TV? If it's a 1080p set, you want an HDMI cable. HDMI is the only thing that'll get 1080p resolution out of your system, and it makes a huge difference vs 1080i or 720p, especially in Blu-Ray movies. Most people think HDMI cables are super expensive thanks to marketing bullshit from companies like Best Buy and Monster Cable (NEVER buy a Monster Cable product). However, if you actually know what you're doing, they're really not at all expensive. Something like this will give you the same performance as the 80$ cable Best Buy probably tried to sell you when you bought the TV at a fraction of the price. If you need a different length, click here and scroll about halfway down the page till you get to the section titled "28AWG HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Male to Male Cables"; those are the ones you want. The ones rated for in-wall installation are more expensive due to the shielding required and aren't needed unless you're doing some major electrical work.
  12. My winter hobbies begin and end at penny pinching and working my ass off to make money. I've already got a new bike in mind I wanna buy next season and list of mods as long as my arm I'd like to [eventually] put on it, so I'm eliminating virtually all unnecessesary spending and putting in as many hours at the office as I can
  13. Why not have a zero tolerance policy for this type of police behavior? Someone who doesn't follow the laws has no place enforcing them. Also, "Although police found a small amount of marijuana in the couple's car, a toxicology report found no traces of the drug in their blood, Halloran said." Was it really necessary to mention that? Not that I'd expect news off of 'policeone.com' to be unbiased, but these kids are dead, there is no reason to try to make them look like the bad guys.
  14. USB 2.0 A Male to Micro B - 3ft $0.83 USB 2.0 A Male to Micro B - 6ft $1.07 (temporarily out of stock though) USB 2.0 A Male to Micro B - 10ft $1.41 USB 2.0 A Male to Micro B - 15ft $1.68 You said you wanted a 6 foot one, but sadly, they're on backorder for a bit. If you're willing to spare the extra 34 cents though, you can get a 10 foot one, or an uber-extravagant 15 foot one for just 27 cents over the 10 foot one.
  15. I can't believe I'm getting paid to sit on my ass at work and read through this shitshow
  16. I don't own an 1125, but I had wanted to buy one for a long time and did quite a bit of research on them. I personally -hate- the badweb forum simply for its god awful layout. I preferred http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/index.php; there is quite a bit of info there as well, and the board as a WAY better layout and is easier to navigate. The stickies are quite handy. You new 1125 owners might wanna check it out.
  17. I've always wanted to know if its possible to punch/knock off someones mirror while wearing riding gauntlets with CF knuckle protection. I doubt I'd ever have to use the skill, but it would be nice to know ahead of time so that if it ever does come to that, I don't shatter my wrist in the process The marble/ball bearing thing sounds like a good idea, but I can't really think how to carry them in a such a way that makes for easy access/throwing. Maybe easy-detach weighted bar ends would be a good idea...
  18. The 08 black/gold SE is pretty hot, but I'd settle for any year in black. Then again, it may just come down to whats available in the area.

  19. Went to Motohio. Sat on a 675. Fell in love. I'm gunna do everything I can to get on one of those next season :D

  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXPqnMX46BQ That one is slightly older but also from 5th gear. They just did separate runs for the car and bike and based the challenge on outright lap times rather than a head-to-head race where rider safety prevented overtaking. The Ducati still won.
  21. Ah, good call on the tax aspect; I hadn't even considered that. I'll have to look into the legitimacy behind having 2 paypal accounts and all, but in general terms the idea seems like a solid concept.
  22. That's so PAINFULLY simple I'm kicking myself for not thinking of that as soon as Casper mentioned PayPal. You, sir, are a genius. I sent a message to Capital One inquiring about the checks Whitey1 mentioned; if they have that service I'll just use that and save some PayPal fees. Otherwise, I'll just have my girlfriend open a PayPal account and go ahead and get myself whatever money I need from Capital One whether they like it or not Now to work my ass off over the winter and save up, and then find someone with one of these for sale
  23. Paypal's current fee is $0.30 + 2.9% of the transaction amount. I'm fairly sure they now allow the person sending funds to choose if they want to pay the fee or if they want to pass it on to the seller. Even if I go way above my current projections and send 4 grand from my credit card with paypal, the fee will only be $116.30. I would likely just choose to pay it myself to keep the confusion and haggling to a minimum. If I were shopping for a more common bike I'd probably be more sensitive to an extra hundred-some bucks, but what I'm after is a bit harder to come across so I wouldn't mind paying that little extra fee just for the sake of getting exactly what I want at a good deal. Also, I'd like to thank everyone who has replied so far. I'm very inexperienced with this sort of thing and I want to get a solid handle on the situation well before I pull the trigger on anything. All this input has helped quite a bit
  24. I thought about that, but I couldn't dig up anything about that sort of deal with my credit card company. Which company are you with? Mine is Capital One. That'd be overkill I think; I plan on paying for the majority of the purchase with cash and just using the credit card for the last bit that I can't cover right off the bat.
