  1. Great pics! Love the one with the helmet.
  2. Voted... You're up to 10 now!
  3. My CL rule of thumb: if there is a phone number in the ad, pretty good chance the ad is legit.
  4. It will do 110... With some mods. Downhill. With a tail wind. Maybe. I got mine to tickle 100 a couple times, then my better sense took over and reminded me of the implications of a ticket like that.
  5. I got an opossum last spring. I'm not sure I killed it, but I know I winged it pretty good with my right floor board. Saw it tumbling down the road in my mirror, but it was gone when I came home that night.
  6. Icon Alliance SS for me. Probably going to start shopping for another next season, though.
  7. This isn't exactly correct... The article says they're talking about splitting the conference into two divisions, and putting OSU and UM into different divisions, but they'll still play every year. In October. So what they're saying is that in their perfect, pie in the sky situation, OSU will play UM twice. Once in the middle of the regular season, and then potentially in a conference championship game. It's CRAP!
  8. This is me last month on the way back from VA. Stopped at the Sidling Hill Overlook near Hancock, MD. And look, 3 OR logos in that pic! Last Christmas. Me and the wife.
  9. PM Hoblick for tires, he's helped a lot of people out with tires on here.
  10. Even if the engine supplier issues don't get in the way, I don't see much of a market in the US for a $12-16k sub-500 cc bike.
  11. It's all the power he's putting down once he gets it stood up on the straights. The bike just has so much power that he can't keep the tire hooked up when he rolls on the throttle
  12. I had no idea where Petersburg, Ky was, so I googled it... I really hope dude didn't ride from there on that tire, Petersburg is over 100 miles from where I saw the bike.
  13. :nono: It's really sad, because the bike in his pics looks WAY better than it actually does.
  14. Correction: The bike is actually an R1, and I found his ad on CL... 2005 YAMAHA R1 17,500 MILES - $3800 (PETERSBURG) Date: 2010-06-18, 3:34PM EDT Reply to: sale-5daje-1798909779@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] For sale is my 2005 Yamaha R1 with a complete titanium exhaust and 17,500 miles. 15. I know it's a joke, but I really like those, and that one is in great shape!
  16. If that's your first time out of the box, and you've only had the thing for two weeks, I'm super impressed! Keep practicing, you've got talent!
  17. As I was walking around checking out all the bikes, this guy on an R6 rides by, and the bike kinda caught my attention. I noticed it because he had race plastics on the bike, with a couple of headlamps strapped to the forks. I didn't think much of it until I spotted it parked, and decided to go look it over. When I got there, I noticed he had a paper taped to the tank. The paper was a printed for sale ad for the bike in which the owner freely states that the bike has been down a couple of times, plastics are zip-tied on and painted with a rattle can, and the bike could use a rear tire. So of course, I checked out the rear tire, and this is what I saw: Now keep in mind, this dude rode the bike to QS&L, and clearly intended to ride home, and yes, those are the steel cords coming through the center of the (absent) tread. Would that thing not ride like it was on marbles? If the owner of this bike is on here, You Sir, are a dumbass. Oh yeah, 17k miles, and $3500/obo...
  18. Since I'm staying off the Interstate, I figure fuel should be pretty easy to come by. I usually top off the tank at around 120 miles, so as long as I stop for a snack, drink, stretch, and fuel every couple of hours, I shouldn't have any problems that way. I am putting all of my clothes and other stuff in the car. Everything except the motorcycle specific stuff. Space in the cage is going to be somewhat limited though, as it is a Saturn Vue, and the wife is going to have both kids, the dog, and all of the stuff for 2 weeks out of town. IBW: I had never considered carrying an extra clutch cable... I do need to add zip ties, hose clamps, wire, and electrical tape to the tool bag. Thanks for that!
  19. I should have mentioned, part of the reason for riding is that I intend to do an Iron Butt later this summer or fall, and I'm kinda looking at this as an opportunity to fine tune packing options, I suppose it's mostly to figure out how comfortable I can make the ride, you know?
  20. I'd buy this and build a bobber out of mine if I had the cash. Good looking bike!
  21. I've done several 200+ mile days, and racked up 300 during the scavenger hunt last year, but this'll be the first time I've put up a 400+ mile day, and for all of those miles to be going away from home is totally new to me. I think I might not be so concerned if my wife didn't keep asking if I'm sure I want to do this...
