  1. pssst! Two of the three rotating posters on the main page say "Quarker Steak"... Someone should fix that. Got the date, what time is this running? I'll be going up from the Kings Island area that morning if anyone wants to ride up with me.
  2. When you downshift, do you boil the throttle and match revs (engine brake) down to a stop, or do you pull the clutch and basically idle to a stop downshifting to the appropriate gear for the speed? If it is the latter, it sounds as though your carbs may be loading up with fuel, and basically flooding the engine. Fix for that could be just a simple carb adjustment and sync.
  3. Prayers for you and your family. Hope everything turns out okay.
  4. How is this being left alone?! The current Pro Stock Dragbike world record holder Hector Arana posted his world record run just a few days ago with a 6.77 @ 195. I generally stay out of these threads, but this statement goes beyond trash talking and jumps straight to the absurd. Unless of course he's talking about his 1/8 mile times... Maybe. Seriously though, Top Fuel CARS have only recently been hitting high 3's, with the Top Fuel Record holder being Larry Dixon with an ET of 3.77 posted on 2/27/11 in Pomona.
  5. I like it! Really diggin' the satin silver paint too.
  6. I've clicked through page after page on CL, and I've looked on ebay. There are lots of parts on CL, but it seems hardly anybody lists a speedometer as an individual part for sale. Lots of "harley parts" posts, but going through them all is a pain. I've never bought off of ebay before, and I don't have a paypal account or credit card, so I haven't spent too much time looking there.
  7. nice tv for a good price, and I have no monies to buy Shoot, I like Phineas and Ferb!
  8. For a 2002 Harley Sportster - miles of 8500-9000 preferred but not necessary. Can be functional or not, as long as the miles are visible.
  9. I'll be getting my hands on it hopefully in the next two weeks, so I have to figure out what to do with it. I have bought from out of state before so I'm familiar with the inspection requirement. The inspection poses a potential problem for me though. The PO at some point took off the speedo (I guess he figured it fit better with the "badass" theme he was going for) and it currently does not have any way to verify the milage. I want to avoid having to put True Milage Unknown on my title when I register it here. The way I see it, I have two options: 1) Locate and buy a speedometer with miles close to or greater than what is written on the title, or 2) make a new friend at a dealer? Anyone in the greater Cincinnati area able to help me out on either count? Honestly, I don't even care if the speedo works or not as long as it'll display miles in the 8500-9000 mile range. The bike is a 2002 xl883 hugger with a 1200 conversion btw...
  10. from Warren County! I live South of Lebanon, and go right through Waynesville all the time on my way to Springfield. Hope to see you out sometime.
  11. It's about time you introduced yourself Phil! Glad you're on here.
  12. I love that its a half ton crew cab with a real full size bed instead if the stubby too short to be really useful 5 footer. Nice truck!
  13. Yeah, its a 2002 883 with HD 1200 jugs and pistons, Buell Thunderstorm heads, Andrews N4 cams, and adjustable rockers. strictly street: I'll always have a soft spot for the VStar, but the pit stop tanker bike is living with my mom in VA. Problem now is that I have to get a key made (bought without one, the PO lost it), got to get it to Ohio, and I need to find someone to give me an out of state vehicle inspection without an odometer. The title says 8500 miles, but no speedo on the bike. I'd like to avoid a TMU title if I can.
  14. And bought a new one today! I can't wait to get it home and get it sorted out. Yesterday I sold a 2000 VStar 650 Classic with 20k miles, and today I found a Sportster 883/1200 near my parents' house in Northern VA. I'm not quite sure when I'm going to get my hands on it, but I can't wait! I know there are some Harley guys on here, what are the forums you guys visit? Just thought I'd share! /Twitterupdate….
  15. I went there once. Don't plan on haggling with them, they wont budge off their price. They buy salvage motorcycles at the insurance auction and sell them back to the public. Bottom line: they are essentially a motorcycle salvage yard that sells whole salvage title motorcycles. I was on their website today though, and it looked like almost everything worth having is on hold.
  16. Seems like I remember reading somewhere that if you go through an intersection at less than like 12mph, you wont trip a red light camera on a legal right on red.
  17. I thought ABATE stood for American Bikers Aimed Toward Education... Either way, I hope this law spreadslike wildfire across the country.

    Diavel - DO WANT

Riding position. You sit very upright in a more "standard" position as opposed to the stink bug position of a sport bike. I sat on one at IMS Cleveland this weekend, and found it to be very comfortable. Compared to other bikes around that price point, it looks like a winner. Definitely would buy over the V-Max.
  19. I liked the bagger best. That thing was sweet!
  20. Considering what you want to do with it, another option to consider is a Chevy Astro or GMC Safari. 4.3 liter v6, full frame, available with either 2wd or AWD, factory rated to tow 5000 lbs, and if you pull the seats, you can load a bike inside. Nice, low mileage, well equipped AWD Astros are available for $4-6k and they're built like tanks! Here is one guy's setup...
  21. Had it done myself, but as I think about my 8 year old daughter, I realize it wasn't all that recently. Doc said he schedules procedures for Fridays to give a weekend to recover. Back at work on Monday with no ill effects.
