  1. The thing about older cars like that is that they're worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I personally really like the older Buicks, and were I in the market, I'd definately consider paying a little more than NADA for a REALLY nice one. I wouldn't hesitate to put it out for $2500/obo based on the overall excellent condition. A CD player is a bonus, but won't add anything to the value. As a matter of fact, if you told me the CD player was contributing to your asking price, I'd ask if you'd reduce your price by that amount and sell it to me with the stock stereo or no stereo at all. You're approaching top dollar at $2200 invested... I think anything else you do to it should be only because you want it that way, not because you expect to be able to pull the money back out of it when it comes time to sell.
  2. I'll park it right next to the CamEro I've been keeping my eye on!
  3. That sucks! Glad you're okay though. The bike can be fixed.
  4. I like the speed triple. For someone your age though, insurance is going to be your limiting factor. Look it up, talk to an agent. Triumph parts suppliers around here can be tough too.
  5. We were waiting for you.... hope you feel better.
  6. I'm going to need a team... Any of you participating?
  7. Glad to hear you got it up and running! It's frustrating when your bike refuses to cooperate.
  8. This is my first Harley, and like I said, I came from a VStar 650. I've never found my Harley short on power. Sure, it makes half the horsepower of a late model liter bike, but how often are you able to take full advantage of all the power a liter bike has to offer? In my mind, it's all about torque, and how early in the revs you get into the meat of the torque curve. Most if not all of my riding is done between 35 and 75 mph commuting to and from work and playing in the twisties nearby. My sportster is perfectly suited for the majority of the riding I do. Come find me at the Anniversary Event this weekend, I'll let you check mine out.
  9. I'm 5'11", 230, and ride a Sportster. My bike is a 2002 883 Hugger (most basic bike you could buy from HD in 2002) and I love it. To be fair though, my bike is sporting a 1200 kit with some other goodies, but that is what I was looking for. I set out to find an 883/1200 conversion for a couple of reasons. 1 they are typically cheaper to buy than a 1200. 2) The 883 has different gearing than the 1200, so they get moving a little quicker. 3) I've been told that in general an 883 conversion will make morepower than a stock 1200, and will rev higher and faster while doing it. My Sporty suits my riding style well. I've had a couple of 150-200 mile days, and it does get a bit tiresome, but I've got to be honest with myself on what kind of riding I generally do. One day I'll buy a big twin bagged for eating up the highway, but for now, I'm enjoying the relatively sporty handling (came off of a vstar 650) that this bike has to offer.

  11. Mods can shut this down... I'm going to meet up with the other Cinci/Dayton riders at the Ceaser's Creek Exit from 71, at the BP gas station at 8:30.
  12. That should work... See you guys on Saturday!
  13. My buddy Phil (Jolly Mon) and I drove up to Columbus last Saturday afternoon to have Hoblick swap a couple of sets of tires for us. We were a half hour later than we were supposed to be, but Ryan welcomed us to his home and quickly set about removing pulleys (Phil's Buell and my Sportster) to get the wheels on his machine. Everything went smoothly, and we were on our way a couple of hours later. Fair prices, good conversation, great dogs (Buster's still my favorite ) and quality work. Thanks again!
  14. I'm going, and my thread for Cincy folk hasn't gotten much traction. I'm in the Kings Island area off of I-71. Which way were you planning to go? I don't really want to ride all the way to Dayton just to turn and head for Columbus. That's kinda the long way for me.
  15. Looks like the guys I was going to ride up with on Saturday morning are bailing on me. Anyone interested in meeting up in the Kings Island area?
  16. So, like I said in the other thread, I was planning to leave from the South Lebanon area (I-71 exit 19) the morning of 6/18 around 7:30. I can go either way on riding the highway all the way there, or take the two lane at a little more leisurely pace. Those that wanna meet up, what say you? a) let's not waste time, speeding up the slab is the only way! or b) I don't really want to start a day of riding on the highway, what's the rush?
  17. I did the one two years ago, had a great time, and got about 300 miles on the day by the time I got home. The route I planned on going goes up through Wilmington. Mostly 2 lane, takes about 30 minutes longer, but not being on the slab for an hour and a half is worth it I think. If everyone meeting in South Lebanon wants to ride the slab though, we can do that. I'll start another thread to figure this out.
  18. Welcome from Hamilton Twp.!
  19. Welcome from Hamilton Twp.! I think there are more Cincy folks here than people realize.
  20. I'm completely in for this! I'll be bringing Jolly Mon and maybe Jamez with me. Anyone else from the Cincinnati area wanna ride up with us? We'll leave from the South Lebanon Target by 7:30 to be up there by 10:00 without taking the slab.
  21. I'll be honest, I was REALLY looking forward to the photo scavenger hunt...
  22. Sounds like a Honda 919 might suit you. I've always liked those. Maybe a little less power than you're looking for though...
  23. Well, I think I've resolved my electrical gremlins. Had the bike out for a couple of hours on Saturday, then got out and rode with Jolly Mon and Jamez for a couple of hours yesterday. The bike ran great, never even stumbled the whole time we were out. Had a good time and got to see some roads that I hadn't ridden before. Warren County has some pretty neat and fun roads to ride!
