I am not able to ride Saturday, moving to Sunday.

** I will be with kids Saturday due to a changing work schedule, so I am moving my ride to Sunday.  A Saturday can still happen, but someone else will need to step up and lead it.**

Sunday will have better weather anyway.

Sunday 6/15  Saturday 6/14, I'll be leaving NEO around 7:30a, but the entertaining part of the ride doesn't begin until Millersburg.  We'll be riding some of the most fun roads in Ohio...IMO anyway.

We'll leave Millersburg Marathon/DQ (on 83) by 9a.  The ride will end in Uhrichsville (intersection of 36/250/800) around 3:30-4.  The route from Millersburg to U'ville will be about 250 miles.  I plan to be back home in NEO by 5:30.

1st gas stop will be in McConnelsville.  That can also be a secondary meet spot.

I'll be leading.  The pace will be brisk.  If you were in the Fast or Med fast group of the Epic ride you should be OK.  If someone wants to step up and lead a Med group, that would be good, too.

More details to come...

Fill up in Millersburg.  Gas stops in McConnelsville & Woodsfield.  Plan on 90 miles between gas stops.  If you're bike can't make it that far let me know.  I try to keep gas stops fairly short so I can get back to NEO at a reasonable hour.

If you haven't ridden with me before...I try to keep the group together as much as possible.  If we get too spread out by passing traffic, etc I'll slow down in straights to attempt to regroup (as much as possible).  I stop at each time we turn off a road and at some stop signs to count bikes.  No one get's left behind.   If you need to turn off, tell someone...else we will be looking for you on the side of the road...and you may need to fight Pauly at a later date.

  • DNFs and crashes are not allowed.
  • Please don't ride over your head trying to match the pace of the rider in front of you.  Your pace should be based on your confidence, familiarity with these roads, and current conditions.
  • You don't need to follow the rider in front of you to make a pass.  Sometimes there's only room for 1 bike to pass, and there are plenty of opportunities to pass.

Here is the route.  276 miles.  There are a few options to shorten (if you're OK missing some really good twisties).

racing the following weekend, so the wife won't be wild about this, but I will have the bike street-worthy by then.  Giving it a good long test ride on a Saturday seems like a prudent decision before commuting on it daily.

I'm intrigued.

This going to be as brisk as that left hand on ramp coming back to NEO from riding with Bad? Haha in that case count me out Lol.

When there's no traffic, that ramp is a nice sweeper that begs for triple digits :)

I typically don't reach those speeds on group rides.  Corner speed will be as fast as confidence and common sense allow, straight line speed won't be the focus.  Roads will be twisty and fun.  As always:  Keeping upright  > Keeping up

Any decision that results in a nice long day of riding is prudent in my book :)

Ha! How fleeting your love is.

You can always have another mistress. My R1 is named TOW (The Other Woman) in reference to both my wife and my other R1 (who is named LMS - Lil Miss Sunshine)

Subscribed but tentative.

I just pulled Isabella out of storage. She developed a fuel leak over the winter. I fixed it and just got back from spinning her around the neighborhood. I forgot how amazing she sounds. James can keep that R1. ;)

I'll be piloting the old girl for this ride. :)

I've logged many miles chasing that very same 900SS through SEO when I was a young(er) buck.

  • 2 weeks later...

LoL. First World Problems: "My red Ducati is broken, so I have to ride the black one."

Black one is probably broke too, you just don't know it yet.
