M_Quick
The PCv will hold 2 maps and. If you add a switch you can switch maps on the fly. I downloaded all the maps off the PC Website for my quad. I tried a different one, but quad stalled out, so I said F that and went back to old map. I know you can ajust these on your own, but hard to know what's up with out a dyno and o2 sensor. On the up side Dillon Speed Specialist, called me today. Said he was on vacation, and would call me back Monday to schedule tune appointment. He also advised me his business is part time evenings and weekends. So that's perfect for me, except I wont be able to ride this weekend.
M_Quick
Dyno tuned at DTM. This was the best run as far as #'s. And was in 3rd gear, pulled up to 40 mph just under 7K rpm's hitting 47.8 hp and 43.5 torque. This was achieved on a 3k lb roller car dyno with knobbies on the quad. I wasn't after big #'s, just proper A/F ration. Which I'm sure I have, thanks to Brian from Dyno Tune Motorsports. http://www.dynotunemotorsports.com/
c7fx
It didn't sound right from the start. Something sounded metalic and it gets worse right up to the point of detonation. that sucks!
M_Quick
Call Extreme Tech, they are a little bit of a drive but Jeff LOVES Honda's and thats all he has ever raced. Great tuner with a Dyno and an all around good guy that knows his stuff. Oh and he is pretty reasonable on pricing. Dropped it off up there today, they said 2 weeks out. I hope to hear from them around the 1st of April. And is it just me or what, seams like places like this should check your quad in and give you a claim check? Not just the okay we'll give you a call. bowdog
Yea they are kind of a back yard mechanic outfit but Jeff knows his Hondas.
M_Quick
Yea they are kind of a back yard mechanic outfit but Jeff knows his Hondas. Look like a pretty impressive operation, building was pretty good size, I didn't see the dyno setup, maybe when I pick up the quad..
M_Quick
Picked up the Quad from Jeff @ Extreme Tec Atv yesterday. He found a clogged oil passage, and my cam was wiped along with the 2nd intake rocker. He said he spent most of the time remapping my pcv. The map that was in it from DTM was way to rich. I new when Brian tuned it I'd never seen other maps with #'s that high, but he was the tuner and I had some high performance parts added. Also it was eating the intake rocker on DTM's dyno. Anyway Jeff hooked it up and was very reasonably priced. Only d/fall to his shop, is he has so much business, he's now 3-4 weeks out... M_Quick
Glad he took care of you...I have never had a bad experience with Jeff.Yeah I'm very happy so far. He did want me to run quad awhile, then remove tank and valve inspection cover to make sure still has plenty of oil up top. So you're ready to go riding with us again then?Yeah I just need a trail pass, I renewed my sticker alrdy. The weather at this point looks like it will be nice as hell next weekend.

2talltim
Cool, and you can probably bet they won't use a app for the estimate process. Just got home from my builder and looks like ill be in my 24x32x10 pole garage with 2-9ft doors, man door, concrete and 4 windows for around $13,000 and be done by mid to late June. I love the Amish, I'll have my exact quote mid next week. Edited April 23, 2015 by 2talltim
M_Quick
Damn 13k that's about what my repair estimate was!
2talltim
Damn 13k that's about what my repair estimate was!Pole building bubby more bang for your buck, and the Amish are cheap and do a better job. Only permit I have to get is from my Township for $25 plus $.05 a share foot, so around $75 it's nice to be zoned agricultural.
M_Quick
Glad he took care of you...I have never had a bad experience with Jeff. Okay so by now I've had a few rides on the quad, did some maintenance ect. Decided tonight was a good day to hook the laptop up to the power commander, to save my map to computer. And now I'm a tad upset, and feel that Jeff rip me off! I may be wrong but I see no custom tune what so ever! All it had loaded was a d/loaded tune from the power commander site, for my quad. map # 16-004-004 which is for a FMF slip on with some mods. I plan on calling them tomorrow and see what he has to say. I specifically wanted the quad custom tuned. And when I picked it up I asked him about the hp and tq #'s he said he didn't pay any attention, just to the fuel/air mixtures. And he said he didn't do a print out sheet. So I then asked about a copy of the map, and he said just hook it up and save the map, and that it's a good idea because he only keeps them there for 6 months. So at this point I'm not so sure my quad ever say the dyno!!!
M_Quick
Called and talked with Jeff several times today. He assures me he tuned my quad, but admitted the d/loaded map from power commander site #*-004 is what he used for a base map! And he said if I compared the values they would be different. (at this point I compared values, it's the same map) I asked well wouldn't you save the map file under a different name, and delete the tune notes and enter your own? He claimed he did, and almost word for word read me back the notes from the tune I got at DTM!!! He said he'd e-mail me the file, 3 hours later I call back because no e-mail. He rattles off my e-mail and tells me yep it sent on my end, check your spam box. Hell I did that before I called him. Just my typical luck of getting screwed. Maybe I will just hook back up with Brian and put it back on the huge car roller. At least then I'd get a print out, and a file I can pull for real off the programmer, with it's own name. MidgetTodd
Brian is the only one that tunes anything I own. You get no bullshit or stories from him.

shadyone
I know a great guy that just put in a brand new dyno for quads but he's in Celina. Quite a ways from you. But is absolutely awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
M_Quick
thx, but I will either go back to Brian or take it to New Lexington Oh. Smocks performance. It's just bs from extreme tec, hell in 3 mins I could swap some #'s around and delete & add some tune notes to d/loaded map and email out. But Jeff didn't even bother to do that. He just told me yep it sent, check your spam box. So It's obvious to me at this point my quad never seen his dyno. And to think i was happy with the original bill, paying that much now, knowing all he did was picked a random map off of the power commander site and sent it to my pcv. That's like a few mins of work at best, and he told me it was on dyno for several hours getting Brian's map right. Then his story today was he installed the fmf slip on map as a base map, and tweaked it. He did swap out my cam and install a new rocker, and cleared oil passages. Extreme tec is making money hand over fist from what I seen, but it's real BS my quad was there for 4 weeks, and never even seen the dyno. I guess he's just to busy to do all the work, and only dyno's the race quads or repeat customers maybe? I knew it didn't seem right or feel right, when I picked it up and asked him what kinda #'s he got out of it, and he replied Idk I didn't even pay attention! MidgetTodd
and he told me it was on dyno for several hours getting Brian's map right. I've tuned bikes with Brian. Spent hours upon hours at the shop with Brian. He doesn't let shit leave unless it's right. End of story. Guy is feeding you bullshit. Brian is an anal perfectionist. Everyone that has ever dealt with him knows this

So I'm sure it through the numbers off. Plus the cam went from stage 3 to stock. But yeah guy is full of shit for sure. I just have serious dumb fucking luck, with about ever encounter I have purchasing or hiring out stuff.
