I've tried the 3-in-1 electric motor oil, and it only lasted 2-3 days before locking up. Any ideas that I could possibly do to NOT have to take it apart this frequently? max power Posted April 14, 2016 Report Share Posted April 14, 2016 Chinese fan and probably meant to run without oil on the bearings. oiling the bearings attracts dirt which will gum up the bearings causing power loss and lock up. replace the bearing or get a new fan and blow it out with air once in a while but do not oil it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I worked at a factory that had a heat and carpet fuzz problem on the fans and this stuff worked great there also.
