How was your weekend? 56k unfriendly

So this weekend was nice and quiet until Sunday. Sunday afternoon, I get a call from a guest on the second floor telling me there is a fight in the hallway. I get up there and there are five people BRAWLING in the hall. It seems that two guests from the first floor (Room 132 - crackheads, found out after the fact) had gone to the second floor and knocked on the door of 244. When 244 guest opened her door, the guy hit her in the face with a walking stick and started yelling about his stereo. 244 had two friends in the room and they got into it with 132 and his gf. I start pulling people apart and told everyone "Just go pack your shit and get the Hell out of my fucking hotel and I won't call the police!!" I follow 244 back to their room (three girls, early 20s) and ask them what the deal is. They tell me he knocked, they opened, blah X3. I get some ice for one girls eye (already black and swelling. She caught the walking stick high on the cheekbone) and for another girls cheek (not as bad, but she got some vicious scratches on her face and neck.) Tell them that i won't remove them since they were defending themselves, but I am not sure how the manager will handle it on Monday. I get them calmed down below the screaming and shaking with rage level and head down to make sure 132 is leaving and to also get their side of the story. When I get there, they're gone. All their stuff is still ni the room, including the dangerous walking stick, clothes, crackstems and choreboys, a mountain bike, shoes, a friiggin 24" machete, porn dvds and videotapes( but no players?!?!). I check the room for anything else illegal (Cause I'll flush a crackheads stash in a heartbeat.) make sure the window is closed and locked and put a block on the door so they can't get back in. GO back up to 244, talk to them, make sure no one needs more serious medical attention, and go to right up my report.

About 10:30 that night, a guest knocks on my door and says "I think you have a car on fire in the lot." I grab my extinguisher, run outside and sure enough, the car is leaking smoke like a room full of potheads. I can see flames inside the car and all the windows are up, so I decide not to try and put it out because as soon as I do something to let me get to the fire, I'll also be letting air get to the fire and screw that! I call 911, they show up and put it out. The lead guy on the truck tells me they think it's arson, you can smell gasoline really strong in the back seat. I stick my head in and, yup, it smells like gasoline. I run the license plate against my guest list, find out who it belongs to, and he's not even at the hotel, he's out driving a cab, so I have to wait for him to find out. When he comes in, he asks me "Why is my car sitting out there in a pile of ashes?" (Duh, why do you think? You've been punked!) I tell him what i know, and let him know that the FD will be sending an arson investigator out to.. uh... investigate.

Anyway, since I know you guys want to see... Here's some pics

And that's how my weekend went, except for calls all night from people who just wanted to make sure I knew about the vandalized burnt up car in the lot.

The funny thing is, my title is "Courtesy Officer". When I interviewed, the manager asked me if I had any problems being a dick when I had to. Uhhh... Hell no! Most of the time it's pretty quiet; asking people to quiet down, taking a plunger to someone once in a while, but every so often it gets entertaining!

+1, glad I read more and found out it wasn't his car.

Those stories are pretty crazy, can never say you have a boring job though.

Sorry, the boss won't let me say which hotel it is when I post. I can tell you it's the only one near the corner of 161 and Cleveland Avenue (right behind the Outback).

And no, we aren't hiring. Everybody wants to come knock heads when they hear the stories! :D
