Tomato_Racing1647545493
well heres the deal my dad just picked up a 1997 YZF 1000 with 12000 miles on it. Anyways he gets it home and decideds to treat it to a good oil change. Well problem is that when we did A glossy silver came out with the oil!!!!!!! We have no idea what this could be beside like antifreeze from a cracked block!! Any ideas? The bike was obviously taken pristein care of without a scratch on the whole body but this could be very serious if the block is cracked
nurkvinny
Fine metal shavings usually show up in oil as gray/silver streaks. Take a magnet, and stir it around in the oil. If there are metallic fragments, they will stick to the magnet.

nurkvinny
Jay, did the oil look as if someone poured streams of dirty, metallic silver paint through it? That describes metallic shavings to a 'T'. It may be that the silver 'sank', instead of mixed in.

TurboTank
might be clucth related also as those are a wet clutch. put more oil in it run it for a bit to warm it and check compression.
