zeitgeist57
It seems that a good half dozen or more CR.com peeps have gotten new rides, and I'm jealous! So, I jumped on eBay, found this for my wife, and let her take a look. She really really wants one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cadillac-CTS-CTS-V-Cadillac-CTS-V-Supercharged-560-HP-Perfected-Modified_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43903QQihZ002QQitemZ4649729683QQrdZ1 We're sitting here smiling, because we realized that our move to Florida has been a great one so far and were financially doing much better than in Ohio. We started talking about selling her Passat for $9k and offering this guy $35k for his CTS-V... ...then I checked a loan calculator... Honestly, I am VERY happy for everyone who got a new ride. It's important to have a ton of fun and also enjoy reliable transportation...but HOLY SHIT...I am not tying $35k into a car, nor $17.5k, nor $10k when the end result is still some sort of car payment. We are fortunate to not have any car payments anymore and I'm a very happy man because of that (and growing wealthier by the month!) MY POINT IS: Lord knows you can't take it with you when you die, and you should have fun while you're here. However, I hope everyone is being fiscally responsible with their new purchases! MrMeanGreen
Dude, I paid $7k for a badass family car with a proven history of reliability. The Formula is paid off and that's all that matters
Mallard
I've had no car payment for the last 8 months and I agree. It's awesome. Although in a short time I will be picking one up. 8)

Cougar1647545494
You're 19, he's 28. When you're older and make a lot more money you'll change your mind a bit. I know I'd rather have a 400hp Cadillac than a 400hp boosted <insert cheap car here>.. Yup. Unless by older you mean fully restoring an old muscle car. Kohones
I sell & finance cars for a living. It would be nice to NOT have any car payments, but alas I love cars & I'll pay for what I want (within my means). Since like most people I don't have loads of cash, I have loads of paymts. My hats off to those with no car paymts. I owe I owe its off to work I go --

I know I'd rather have a 400hp Cadillac than a 400hp boosted <insert cheap car here>.. I make enough money to get a decent car. I'm a former "unbeatable Mustang owner" and recently almost bought a Cobra but decided to keep to the smaller chasis route for track reasons. I like older cars because the after market is broader and the cars are more generally proven on tracks. I see what you mean though with maturing. coty061885
I almost can't wait to have a car payment cause that means I'm finally making enough money to afford a faster, newer car than what I have now. I'm definitely jealous of all the new acquisitions here, especially the guy with the Viper.
SpaceGhost
I'm definitely jealous of all the new acquisitions here, especially the guy with the Viper. +1 It made me go on auto trader and look at them price wise, and I found out that a 93-94 can be had from 29-35k. Not having your car for 2 months makes me think I can get rid of it.
