My laptop is only on when I use it. I will set it to hibernate when I am done using it. If you want a good antivirus then you need a corporate one. Home versions are not that good IMO. My main desktop and my personal laptop stay on all the time. The school/work one gets turned off between trips between home, school, and work. jeffmeden Posted February 27, 2007 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 +1 for leaves 'em on. One for the TV and one for my workstation. They are both relatively low power tho, between them they only draw 200w doing normal stuff. Its good to have temp sensitive fans, and the CPU throttling enabled, so that when youre not there it can idle nice and low.
