Bam
...Would you like me to take a screenshot? No, you're alright, because if you're stupid enough to pay twice the average of the 5 people that have experience with using them in this thread, there's no saving you. Rally Pat
Its $40 for in-town towing, its $98 for one way.
Jelloman4571647545499
try checking around then. They never ask where im going, never ask how long ill be, hell they never ask anything. Go to the one on Morse road and State Route 3. They, like the others I have been too (lancaster, pickerington) all dont ask. Also I have always been charged $53.85. The price is the same for a car Trailor and a car dolly
Martin
god not the one on morse. waited in line for an hour and a half. I would suggest to go with something stronger then the T5. i dont know how great it will hold up in a 2.3t. its not doing good in mine. i suggest maybe a viper speced t56 or a TKO 500 or 600. maybe that route might be more expensive and i know your on a budget build but it wouldn't hurt to look into if you can find a deal. good luck. a link just to help incase..... http://www.ndperformance.com/how_to/2300_t56/index.html
Bam
Its $40 for in-town towing, its $98 for one way. Where is this car compared to where you're located. Tow dollies do NOT track mileage, so fuck, if you have it for 24 hours you could make it to Myrtle Beach and back if you wanted to, on that $40 in town dolly. Why do you need a 1 way? Rally Pat
Martin, you have the weakest of all the T5's.... Please, please god don't comment on what you don't know about, I am saying this as a friend, for your own benefit.... The last thing anyone should want in a turbo car is a sixth gear to worry about, especially considering how fast the revs climb on a 2.3. Rally Pat
I figured a 1 way would be a lot less hassle. Also, this car is in Cleveland.
Bam
I figured a 1 way would be a lot less hassle. Also, this car is in Cleveland. Not for $50-$60, cleveland is a joke, I've hauled one empty and full as far as Atlanta and back.
Rally Pat
Alright then...well, that sounds easy enough. Now I have got to see if the owner of the car is available and if Biggu can go with me...
Patrick
Out of curiosity, what transmission are you thinking of? WC-T5?
Rally Pat
Yep, T5 World Class, otherwise it will be whatever I scrounge up. I dont plan on doing any reverse burnouts, so whatever I put behind the motor will do fine. The way turbos load power is a lot less violent than NA motors, which means that its a lot more forgiving on the drive system, so I think Ill be ok. I dont want to go automatic, although I would pull down faster 1/4 times if I did. Edit: Here are two cool videos I found of Volvo head swaps I found at Martin's link. http://www.ndperformance.com/projects/86svo-nd_p2/16v_running.wmv http://www.ndperformance.com/projects/86svo-nd_p2/walkaround.wmv
Rally Pat
Still just waiting on picking up the car... the owner and I's schedules seem to constantly conflict.
Rally Pat
I may give up on the owner of the car I tracked down and try to find another one, in the meantime, I am picking up a motor on Sunday in Cincinnati from a TurboFord.net member. Edit: and here is another sweet video to watch
