How Tough are you? (pics)

I thought I could take and have dealt with a lot of pain, but after having picked up our 10 yr. old last night who had major surgery removing a golf ball size tumor from her thigh muscle I realized she's a heck of a lot stronger than me.

She was pretty groggy at first of course, but today after all the meds are worn off and without any pain meds, she's up and around like nothing happened. We actually have to keep her from rough-housing with her brother

Note to self: Buy pet insurance on your next dog.

This bill helped make a mortage payment for our vet. So far in the past 14 months, we've spent almost $2,400 on her. Getting old sucks and is quite expensive too! Worth every penny though.

Groggy & Cranky, the old girl slept from about 5pm until 9am this morning

Last November she had surgery to fix a blood vessel in her ear

I grabbed one of the pet insurance brochures at Krogers in the checkout lane once, but never followed through. Read the online policy and terms quickly...you have until the dog is like 9yrs old...but then by that time, all pre-existing conditions will null the benefits.

Boxers and what not...we easily have spent $6k on the two of them over the past 7-10 years. Makes that $35 mo. seem reasonable....if memory serves that was the monthly...but I can't say for sure.

Check out the options online. We will be doing it next go-round.

Our baby Turbo who we just found out is 4 weeks younger than what we thought has faught off Parvo. He was in the hospital for 7 days and is doing wonderful. The pain and anguish (sp?) of not being able to see him and not know for sure if he was going to make it with the best care and best meds was more than I could take. He's only 12-13 weeks old (and was only about 9-10 weeks when we got parvo) and seeing him so skiney when he got home broke my heart! Just remember to keep your spirits up so that the dog can feed off your positive energy!
