It's on. I finally got my 3rd flash back!

Well Cord Camera has had my 580ex for the past 3 months "fixing" it. I finally got it back a couple weeks ago but hadn't had an opportunity to play with all three flashes until last night. All I can say is that I am excited about the possibilities that have opened up. I'm using the 580ex tethered to the camera by a hotshoe cord and triggering the 430's which are off camera (obviously). Here are the results. This is with NO post processing work, straight out of the camera. :D

Nice lighting. Wish I had a need to afford 580's:-)

I've been thinking it would be cool if someone had a really nicely cleaned car we could try to shoot a reflection of the Milky Way off its panels. Might make a cool demo shot for one of the detailing guys. I got the dark skys if anyone wants to try it.

I'm pretty sure it can be done. Might not work for all colors of cars, but I've seen some really nice reflections from car panels from you guys before and I've got the gear and knowledge to shoot the dark sky stuff. Only real trouble I'd run in to might be needing a place thats so dark you can't see the car from the cameras position. Then if necessary you could use some very very weak lighting to give the car some highlights.

Of course the more reflective the car the brighter the area can be. It would require a good bit of trial and error to get it just right, but would be fun.

Looks great. The only thing I would suggest is adjusting the perspective for a the fact that it was a wide angle shot. Notice the rear tire.

Otherwise, it turned out very nice.

I see what you are saying. Unfortunately I have a tendency to shoot really wide when I get the wide angle on. I'm still in awe over the full frame goodness that the 5d has to offer.

Scott where di you take that picture at?

It was taken in a developing neighborhood a few miles away from Kings Island. It was nice because I'm pretty sure it was an old field so there weren't any tries or objects getting in the way.

Looks good. How shallow were you on that pic?

I assume you are wanting to know what the aperture was. I was shooting at f4 on that particular evening.

Start shooting weddings and you'll "need" it. I like your idea though and would love to try it some time.
