Have him check the sides of the intake tube and the compressor housing. I'm pretty sure the water will spin out of suspension and collect on the housing. Shouldn't be too difficult, just pop off the elbow from the compressor and run your finger around the inside. If it's wet, the water isn't evaporating as it should.
