Depends on what I'm using it for. If I was carrying one into the field, I'd probably go for a loose fitting base model Springer. For entry-level match grade, I'd take my DW. For a high end custom, well, I'd have to seriously think about who I'd want to build it. There's a bunch of choices there.

Interesting point, I should have specified.

 

What is your favorite 1911 that you would carry daily if desired?

 

Things change a ton when you go custom or into a match grade pistol.

Off the shelf, maybe a nice Wilson or Kimber...

 

But if custom guns count, something hand-fitted from Cylinder & Slide based on Caspian parts. I have handled/shot a couple of their $2k+ guns and they're simply a cut above any other gun I have messed with.
