nurkvinny
So, I have 2 non-stop Southwest tickets to Vegas for early this coming week. My 2 year old came down with croup tonight, and there is zero chance my wife will leave with him like this. I have spent the last hour searching for SW's exchange policy on non-refundable tickets, with no luck. I do plan on calling them first thing in the morning, but by any small chance, have any of you had to deal with exchanging non-refundable SW tickets? Best way to go about it? Certain number of days/hours ahead of time you had to contact SW? And no, going without her is not an option.

nurkvinny
Been through that page. I followed that screen clear through to clicking confirm. I am looking for something stating whether or not there is an exchange fee. The only thing that page said was, "there may be a fee" and "there may be an increase". Radio Flyer1647545514
I booked with Travelocity or something like that one time. It was a Non-Refundable policy, but I got a credit with the air-line/ site I used. They did charge me a 150 dollar fee though.
BloodRed
What you will get will be a credit in your name in the amount of the ticket minus some fees. Only the ticket holder can use the credit, so it sounds like your wife and you will both have one with them. But call them and see what they say. They may wave the fees due to a family medical emergency.
Pedro1647545510
Southwest does not charge fees to cancel or change flight plans if booked via there website or call center. They apply the full price of the fare to another flight that you have to use within a year. If you select a fare with a higher price they just make you pay the difference. I have done this twice with Southwest, the most recent time in May and I was never charged any sort of fee.
Akula
First child? Croup is nothing to worry about, just go on the trip. It will cost you $150 + fare difference to change the dates.
CJINOHIO03
Pedro is correct or you can ask for a refund on your credit card
Bam
maybe its just me. but why do they call them NON-REFUNDABLE tickets, if everyone states that they are clearly getting refunded in either money back or a credit towards a later purchase? Like who thought of that?
Doug1647545489
I also just booked a Southwest flight for Vegas to go to the Barrett jackson Auction with my uncle (he's looking for a toy). Hopefully there are no last minute emergencies at work and I have to eat the 500 bucks.
Conesmasher
Vinny, I'd say just call em and see if they're customer service adds up.
