Kids are going to be VERY curious with all of the advertising they will be seeing as well as hearing about it from other people/friends/parents. DARE is in place to educate kids about the risks and dangers of drugs. A good idea would be to have something similar regarding gambling. IMO of course. Doug1647545489 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Share Posted November 4, 2009 There is a new MGM in Detroit and I only went down once in the three years I lived there(never went to the old MGM either) , but went to Vegas 3-4 times. No one I knew really went downtown either for the Casino. Atleast when you go to Vegas you make a trip out of it. When it's local it is just not as fun. But you've never been to a casino in Ohio which has a smoking ban..... I bet $20 the state doesn't allow smoking anywhere inside. I was amazed that in Vegas casinos the smoking wasn't a problem. You can't smoke anywhere close to food sales and on the casino floor the smoke eaters must have been heavy duty because it didn't bother me or the wife at all. I'm not a big gambler, but I'm happy that we're finally going to get casinos in Ohio. I've been to Vegas, and about all the casinos in Indiana and always had a great time. It's hard to beat Vegas... Vegas is and will be my favorite vacation spot from now on. Sit at the bar and play video poker and drink like a fish for free the entire time... I loved it. The economy hasn't gotten any better like many were hoping it would. So they figure ah fuck it whats the worse that can happen. Plus it'll bring tons of jobs to Ohio and keep money in state. I see cigar shops all over that allow smoking and it appears legit. Maybe you have to be a "member" of their "private" club to smoke on the premises or something, but they're getting away with it somehow. Walker wrote a good commentary against the passage. I, like many on CU, have no problem supporting Casinos in Ohio. But this bill sucks. The current preliminary designs call for a one story casino just like the one pictured.
