I was just wondering how many cr members ride. I think we should do something when weather clears up.

I will smoke some fools this year at Alum. A few of us are talking about the 24hours of Mohican this fall.

Did it last year. What a ride!! Very tough and mentally challenging.

Here is the bike I have on order for this season. Should see it in early April.

2010 Gary Fisher HiFi Deluxe.

Thats fucking sick, I kinda want to go to Fisher, I've always wanted one and have been happy with all my past treks.

When ever your ready Mike, I helped build that trail back 6-7 years ago.

I ride a Fuji , with all older stuff (shimano XTR derailers and shifter), as I Have been out of it. Duke race front shock, just got a new crank and bb and crank bros pedals over winter, and working on getting some new Hayes disc brakes.

Im down to ride with any one, I live about 5 miles from alum.

There is no ride like the ride of a 29er. I am soo stoked for a full suspension 29er. I have had 2 fishers, i still own 1 of them, sold the HT 29er to get the F/S the other I still have is a freeride bike.

We will definitely have to have a ride at Alum or Mohican this summer. I am always up to ride.

The Gary Fisher X-Cal 29er is the best climbing bike I have ever ridden, even in the likes of another Moots 29er that I have ridden ($5-6k bike), hands down.

I like trail riding... Looking to buy a bike ASAP... I used to compete in downhill mountain bike back in high school but sold my bike after it sat for a few years... I saw a couple cheap ones on CL that I'm looking to buy... I'll probably buy one by this weekend...

Downhill shit is dirt cheap. Buy a good XC bike.

Don't have any easily acessible pics, so here is the 'stock' picture from Giant, it's an 06 Yukon.

Only notable thing I've done is gone 1x8 with a bash guard in the front.

I go to Alum pretty often and to other places around the state occasionally. I am definitely down for some rides this summer!

I have a nice bike, but I hardly ride it.. I really should, but I'm always doing something else, or just being lazy. I've thought of selling it, but that would be admitting I'm lazy. At least with it in my garage I can say I *might* ride it again. :D

I miss my Gary Fisher though.. I owned it before suspensions were common. It was a hardtail with elevated chainstays to eliminate chain slap, and a shortened wheelbase with a curved seat tube to make it nearly telepathic down a singletrack. Front fork was solid too. Shock forks were easily $600+ back then. Wish I still had it.

i'm hopeing to get more into this this year. i went a few times last year but don't have my own bike yet. we'll see how money goes this year if i can get onto a nice bike like i want.

Dooo it.

Don't drop thousand(s) of dollars on your first bike. You can get a really nice hard tail (front suspension) bike for 500-700 that will be great for at least a few years. Bike tech changes so quickly everything will have changed by then anyways.

I approve this statement. Go to a shop and get fitted then start looking for a used bike. There are some pretty good deals to be had out there. I would look on cragslist, OMBA, CAMBA, or Pinkbike and see what you can find.

i don't care for hard tail bikes. i have riden a few full suspension and hard tails and i hate the way they handle. maybe its because i'm used to full suspension from dirt bikes.
