FormulaMatt
That would be awesome if they did. My WOW seems to be slowing down lately. I fear my problem is my router though. It runs fine if I plug my laptop directly into the modem instead of running wireless or direct wire to router.

I called WOW and complained, and they not only gave me their 15MB package, they beat Insight's price by a few bucks every month.

MrMeanGreen
They do that sometimes to stay in competition with other providers. I'm sure Joe will chime in when he sees this.

Mr. Jones
Seems about right to me, this old linksys hates the new higher upload. I get can hit 2.0Mb up if I just connect the PC. JaSSon
My WOW internet was totally dead for a few hours today, so I was pulling 0.0 Kb/s. But I'm currently DLing at 1022KB/s, about the same as usual. I should try it wired to the router, see if WiFi is limiting my DL speeds. Nitrousbird
http://www.speedtest.net/result/812411124.png Using Road Runner. Seen 21 a few times. Can't complain it's plenty fast LOL, you think that's the speed you are getting. That's the "Turbo Mode" which basically allows for the first 10 megs of a connection, if the network isn't busy, to double your speed, then drops right back off. So it will make your speed test look fast, but if you try downloading anything of a reasoable size, you won't get nearly that speed. I am stuck with the 7Mbps TW package, get about 490k up, it will show 15Mbps on a speed test, but really only getting the actualy 7Mbps on a download. Just another trick for TW to make their customers think they are getting something more than than they really are. As for WOW, speeds are the same as they have been. Ben, what speed package do you have? WOW offers 4 speed packages - 2Mbps, 8Mbps, and 15 Mbps down with a 1Mbps upload. The 4th is a 15Mbps down and a 2Mbps up. Ben, PM me your house phone # and can look up what speed package you have, or is says on your bill (Xcite, Xpress, Xtreme, or Xtreme Turbo). Nitrousbird
Bill says "Xpress". So I'm getting 12, when I should be getting 8? Yes, you should be getting 8Mbps (or a tad over it). I don't have a good reason for why you would be getting significantly over that, but if ain't broke, don't fix it! Go to speed.col.wideopenwest.com and do the test there to see what you get. Just another trick for TW to make their customers think they are getting something more than than they really are. If you are going to attempt to bash TW for this, you should at least know the name of the Technology and how it works. It is Powerboost, and it is for the first 20MB, and it isn't a double your speed, it is use all available resources for the first 20MB, then you get scaled back down to your standard package. It isn't a trick, we are openly honest about deploying it, and I would much rather download the first 20MB of my file at 15+Mbps than 7 Mbps. It is a free temporary upgrade, and you can disable it if you have a router, that supports any decent kind of QoS. Let me know when WoW is rolling Docsis 3.0 out, then we can talk. I get 50 x 20 on my Cable Modem at home.
SpaceGhost
Holy shit I wasn't starting a bitch fest, I just noticed I was getting a faster connection than I normally get and was wondering if Wow updated their networks as I got no communication about faster speed like I normally do. Chill the fuck out. Joe thanks for replying, I will test tonight with my Air as you asked me to visit a site while I was on my iPad and the site uses gay flash.
