Nitrousbird
Coming back from watching the NHRA event at Norwalk today, my buddy had to take a leak - bad. Pulled on some random country side road, bust a U-turn, and when I was on the side of the road, it was slick and the truck slid down the ditch a couple of feet. I tried getting out, but it got worse at the end, and luckily I got pulled out by a guy driving by with a strap. http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/3236/img0129ac.jpg http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/1722/img0130t.jpg http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/1170/img0131xo.jpg http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/2317/img0132f.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/5802/img0133ja.jpg http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/6232/img0134ha.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/4366/img0135vf.jpg http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/8097/img0138mc.jpg

I don't want off-road tires on her...I didn't want to go off-roading. They sure as hell don't belong on a mini-van...they don't look as aggressive packed in mud - though they are worn out some (30k on them) which doesn't help. TurboRust
thats what you get for buying a truck with nancy-ass looking plastic all over it...lol Joe, lemme know if you're needing new rubber for the ride.

Nitrousbird
Those have to have road noise. Funny enough, the Nittos are still great in the wet and snow. Since I have a company vehicle, I don't put many miles on the Avalanche any more, so those tires will likely last another 2 years. Hell, I pulled my company truck out of a snow drift with the Avalanche this past winter. Regardless of tires, I wasn't getting out of that. Really slick, and up on the frame most of the time on the passenger side. Thank god for that guy driving by, otherwise I would have had a nice tow bill getting out of that. SpaceGhost
I was up there today too, I wasn't at the track today though. There were some nasty storms that rolled through today. Tell your buddy to piss in a bottle next time.

They had road noise mabey the first 50 miles if that on both my sets. I figured they would wear fast nope. Been great with me driving haha burnouts racing, snow, mud sand, towinguse it to tow 2 days a week every week) But yea if u rarely drive it then. Ur good with what you have. An pshh frame rails only help u out... I had my 2wd 91 ranger stock 1 wheel wonder stuck to my frame rails all the time, as well as flipped on its side, submergeed in a lake and was able to drive out Just gotta have skill :joe should be better:

Nitrousbird
I lol'd at your misfortunes. I've had plenty of laughs (and still do) at yours. Could have been the Jesus sandals Nike ACG's. Best Sandals ever...they are what Jesus would wear. I'm on my 4th pair. lower tire pressure to half and steer to the right when going forward. Nice stuck though. Tire pressure I didn't think of, though probably wouldn't have helped enough. I was afraid of smacking into a tree going to the right (there were a lot of pieces of wood stick through the weeds, almost hit a couple where I went through), though if I could have pulled it off, that would have got me out of the rut at least. I think I'll stick to offroading with quads instead.

Xyster101
That is funny. My question is: how do you own a truck and not own tow straps? Shit I have a bucket of tie downs and a tow strap in my Element.

I have tons of ratchet straps, bungee, etc.

Nitrousbird
You need a wrangler. Wranglers tow like shit, ride like they tow, and have no bed. I do not need a Wrangler. I just need to keep out of the ditch...I didn't buy this thing to go off roading. I was at the nationals fri, sat and sunday. It was a great time. I was hoping things would be a bit more eventful...saw a couple cars get loose, but that's about it. Still was a good time, and some great racing. Nitrous > Turbo in Pro-Mod!
