Ok, being from the east coast, I've never played this game. Is this essentially like Horseshoes but with beanbags?

I never heard of it either since I am from NY. It is just like horse shoes, except instead of throwing chunks of metal across a yard full of kids, you toss bean bags. :marc2:

Only good thing is you can take it with you and you can still drink beer while playing.

Tim,

Would it have not been easier to layer the paint? Paint it all one color and then work up with the maskings? Paint it all gray, then mask off the edge of the gray and paint it all black. Then mask off the black and paint the white, once that dries, mask off and paint the red. Just seems like a lot of work with a chance of missing a spot should the tape be off by 1/16". They do look great, but damn that is a ton of time in the paint.

It may have been but I'm pretty meticulous with the masking and my handy-dandy exacto knife gets quite a bit of use as well. I pretty much build these things like I'm building them for myself, so I try to do as good of a job as I can. There may be better methods and I'm sure overtime, I'll figure some out, so we'll see. I do save myself a little bit of time though.

This set has been a lot of fun for me to make.

My fiance's family reunion is this Saturday and they always have a family auction, so I built these so they can auction off and enjoy. I know exactly who will end up buying them but who knows how much they'll go for, but I plan on just putting the money back into the family reunion fund for next year. I have to admit, it's not my original design (saw something similar online), but these ones look pretty nice regardless.

Gotta add another coat of white tomorrow then on to filling in the "boot" with black and it should be finished.

Since I decided against painting the "face" of the Bobcat (since the coloring in the logo is VERY similar to the birch) after Poly, in the right light, the face gets a really cool glow effect. Accidental, but very cool.

Exactly. Scoring is a bit different, basically you cancel out your opponents points when making your own. It makes the game last longer and a bit more compeitive. Im from Long Island, NY and we never played cornhole until we moved here. Interestingly enough, my and my gf visited some of her family in Sterling, IL and they all call it "beanbag" instead of cornhole, not sure why.

Oh and they treat it like an actual sport, shit gets competitive and those guys play is for HOURS on end, i dont know how.

Tim, great set's. You got the Block O just right. I hate it when people paint it and make it too wide or tall. I was surprised how well you got the OU design too, nice job.

I get together with some friends several times a year and we play this and washers non-stop for days on end. :D Great games to play while BBQing and drinking beer.

Those have got to be the nicest boards I have ever seen.

But wouldn't it be easier to just buy vinyl lettering/stickers

It probably would, but then they might not be the nicest boards you've ever seen ;)

Great work Tim.

very cool!

Great looking Boards!

Thanks fellas!
