Then check this out. Theyve come down in price so much these days. Use this as a boot up drive and an external for storage and youve got yourself a huge speed increase for very little cost.

Haven't looked at these in a while. Thanks for the reminder. Think I'll go elsewhere for a little more size but thanks for the idea nonetheless. Currently have a 150GB WD Raptor (10,000rpm) as my boot drive on my desktop but I think I can get by with about one of the 80GB Intel SSD's.

I run a Intel 40g in my desktop for windows 7. All my Main apps are on it. I use drive compression. I keep Starcraft and other games on my other drive

 

i've read you shouldn't use drive compression on SSD's.

i'm not using it on mine, you have any different insight Bill?

 

 

Four of those in a RAID 0 on a dedicated high end raid controller would work pretty nicely.

Fixed.

 

what about TRIM? not supported in RAID at the moment
