Hey all. I've heard good things about this board from people on other ones. I'm mostly a vette guy but if it runs on gas and someone has tried to make it go faster (or just louder) I'm interested. Cars, waverunners, bikes, whatever. I have a black 2008 Z06, a white 1999 C5 Coupe and a black '68 C3 coupe. I just got rid of my '06 GTO DD and miss it already.

OK, more substance...

My Z06 is stock for now except for the black Modular Concepts staggered rims with red pin-stripes but I'm sure there will be more to come. I hard-wired a Valentine One in it right after I got it...

My GTO had Racemesh kidney and lower grilles, SLP long-tubes, SLP LM2 (loud as h3ll), Lingenfelter Intake, Hotchkis bars, Drag bags, a B&M strut brace, Predator Diablo tune, 19" Axis Milanos with BFG KDWs, custom catch can, Optima Red-top, Hurst short-throw shifter, etc... I did a few Hot Rod Power Tours with it. It's an awesome time if you can get free for it.

My 99 is stock except for a GMPP big brake kit and an Optima. It is classic Corvette white with firethorn red interior. My wife has daily driven it since 2001.

My 68 has hooker headers and side-pipes and a MSD distributer but is otherwise fairly stock. I haven't had it long and will be doing a mild restore on it soon to prep it for a future Power Tour.

Oh yeah...the 'rescue'/winter vehicle is a 99 Superduty Crew Cab 4x4 with a car hauler. (vette's don't have spares ya know).

I do almost all my own work on my cars. Mostly I'm just cheap but I also like to know what workmanship has gone into it. I have a lift in my garage/barn and would rather be out there working on a car than about anything else.

Welcome. Wanna hire me at JPMorgan?

Dont hire him!!! He was let go from his last job for using a customers credit card to fund the build of a 14 second car. If he would have made a 9 sec car I would have recommended him... but he obviously makes poor decisions.

Well those wheels were tweaked when I balanced them, and they're a big pain in the ass. I'd take them off as they don't allow much thread on the lugnuts, it's a good looking car and had minimum problems when we got it out of Texas. Anyway I'd gladly race any of your cars, bring something out to our track day.

vette looks great. welcome to the site. as far as the GTO goes, are you sure you didn't have the slp lm1 (loudmouth) kit?? i've got an lmII kit on my '05 gto and its actually very sedate, by slp standards. the mufflers are actually mufflers, and not just resonators like they are on the loudmouth kits--which i have on my '85 mustang.

Hey, Thanks for all the welcome messages.

Kirk...you know...it was an lm1. Not sure why I typed that. With the headers it was over-the-top loud. But I live out in the country and don't have many close neighbors to irritate. The Z06 is soooo tame sounding even with the valves open.

Scott...sounds like you work at Gill. Ya, they seem to be keeping balance fine...I haven't had one off so now I'm anxious to check that lug situation you mentioned. I will say...I just can't keep air in them. Also, they have a bit of rash and that gloss paint is horrible to keep clean. I have a friend whose brother-in-law refinishes rims. I've seen his work. I think I'm going to have him go over them this winter. He just redid the rims on my friend's G35 and he used a matte finish that looks much easier to keep up with. I bought this car to drive it, not fuss over grime on the rims. Ya know?

I believe the ride height to be stock...but I've only had it up on the lift once and I forgot to check it out. I need to mod my lift's ramps because the car is so low it scrapes a little. Maybe that's my clue, huh?

Hey Daniel...if I see your 'bu in the parking lot I'll stop in and introduce myself proper.

Yup thats where I work, and the wheel studs just aren't long enough for me. The car was slammed when we got it and adjusted it back up to what we thought was about stock.
