Here's some photos from last years event. Enjoy. I hope to see some of you guys at the track this year. Also if you plan on driving up on Saturday we can get together and drive up together. We found a few nice hotels for a good price last year about 30min out. PM me for more info.

What condition is this track in now? I've heard no so good things about it in the past.

I thought it was fine, however its the first track day for me. I have heard people that race/lap at other tracks like Mid Ohio say its pretty rough. I didn't really notice it much, but then again i haven't raced/lapped on another track yet.

Here's my video of the last session. Not sure you can really tell much from it but here you go.

here's video of my husband at nelson...he describes the track (vs. mid ohio) as driving on back country roads...i think you can tell how rough and bumpy the road is from the video

Track is rough - its OK for production based race cars / street cars. It's a bit sketchy for formula or sports racers unless you raise the ride height a bit. We were at the 12 hour race last year in a 240Z (ITS) and had no bottoming problems.

Thanks for the feed back guys. To be honest ... yeah the track is old and a bit rough. However for $100 bucks you will get 7 - 8, 20 minute sessions. Thats over 2 hours of track time.

I do want to stress that even if you have a production car with zero mods you can still sign up and participate. We had 18 people in group C last year. Group C was drivers that had 0 -2 track days. We had 18 people in group C last year and not ONE person from group C (the novice drivers) went off track or wrecked!!

I have to say I may hit up one of CR's track days this year just to see what the car will do with the new gears, but once you go road course... you won't want to do much else. Comparing the track time to the dollar amount after you do at least one event whether its ours at $100 or some of the other tracks that are much higher you will leave with your monies worth I assure you.

Thanks for considering our event! It will be great and I can assure you it is well worth your money to give one a try if you haven't before.

Im down for this. Im assuming helmet is required. What's the regulations on helmets? Can't wait to see how the rice box does on a twisty track.

Helmet is required. I suggest the same level of helmet that is required at NTR... Snell approved, however Nelson Isn't real picky. As long as you have one and its DOT approved.

You can have a passenger! They must also wear a helmet but your welcome to take someone for a ride they won't forget! My wife sure hasn't :D

Question - Looking at the Lotus/Caterham 7 - are race tires/race prepped cars permitted? I may be able to make this - but the Cheverra will (probably) not be back to full "street legal" status by then.

Just thinking to see what I would need to do to have it in an "acceptable" level of trim to participate!

craig71188 - I don't believe the vehicle has to be street legal. As long as it will pass tech should be fine. They aren't real picky. Tech last consisted of them pulling on the tire/wheel to make sure no wheel bearing issues. They also check for fluid leaks and the battery is secure. Thats about it. There were plenty of "not street legal" cars there last year. Send me any specific you might have. You can pm me or email (sfultz@slfsolutions.com).

Wonderboy - June 11th at 8pm.

Hmm, debating on bringing the SHO for this, but I'm pretty sure it'd be body roll heaven. Lol

One pic it dug up from last year at nelson. I had a 1990 SHO back in high school, damn I loved that car. You should come!

Also, if two people want to co-drive a single car, like alternate turns, would they split a ticket or be required to buy one each?

Its 1 ticket per driver, sorry. They will place a wrist band on each driver at the gate. They validate before each driver goes out onto the track.

Cobra brakes front and rear, springs/shocks/camber plates, and wheels and tires. Brakes are the most needed, they we're really overwhelmed at VIR.

Awesome! ... I will tell you this. My cousin as a 95 gt ... he went with the Cobra front brakes. Thought they were awesome. Then he rode with me the last session at nelson last year and wished he would have went with the brembo's. I put a set of brembos on the front last year before the event. Even rigged up cooling ducts. Under hard braking in the back stretch going from about 120+ to about 80 or even down to 60 they felt awesome. Never faded just insane grip. That being said my cousins 95 with the cobra brakes did very well. He did not have cooling ducts and said they never really faded through out the 20 min sessions. So they are good choice as well if you can't get a hold of some brembos.
