No problem on the pics. Those were actually taken by Markus -- blue/red/white miata ... he has a very good camera. Also feel free to use any of those pictures and the ones we post later this week on any site/forum. They are free of charge and all yours for attending our event.

Looks like a great time was had by most (too bad about the "offs"). I hope all comes together on the CHeverra in time for Fall.

Rich - we'll talk at the next solo - I think I can help you find a little more time out there. Looks like you were lapping in the 1:25 range per the video - respectable!

And this is the family I came up with. Jon is in the '04 STi, and his father is in the GTO. I'm in the middle!

Yeah, this was an absolute blast! First time I've ever done anything like this, and I definitely plan on coming out again. Huge thanks to Jon (orangedot) for letting me tag along with him and his father, made the experience THAT much better. You guys are very friendly folks! Thanks to Shawn as well for organizing this, and everyone that helped make it possible. Wide range of cars and it was nice to push it!

Next time I'll try to stay off the grass...

Are you Brad's son? We were talking about you today! Glad you had a blast!

They're from Shawn's (theweiser1) album. Here's the link, though I think he's still in the process of adding more pics. http://media.torquedracingsolutions.com/Track-Days/Nelson-Ledges-June-2011

here's a quick video of me

Rich,

Looking pretty good man. Your line is pretty good throughout. There are several spots you're leaving time on the table but it looks like just erroring on the side of caution. For instance T2 is INSANELY fast when you get it right, Visually there's no way you think that you could go through T2 as fast as you can, but it's a huge risk reward scenerio trying to get more time there.

Only thing to note, Next time you're there work on the Carosel. You're too tight, too early on the turn, leading to a very early apex, nearly dangerously early in a couple of instances I saw in that video. Sorry I wasn't there or we could have worked on that some. You need to stay out about mid track or even further in some cases until you're ready to attack a very late apex and shoot down the straight. There's one lap where you almost do it right then you go back to your other (bad :D ) line the next few laps. You'll gain a ton of exit speed and speed down the straight by changing things up through there.

Most people turn too early for T1, you don't and are doing very well there.

Andy

No problem guys. I'm glad everyone had a good time. Thanks again for coming out. I will be sending out an email to all who attended but still waiting on some more pictures from my cousin. Feel free to download, print, distribute the pictures freely. All yours free of charge for attending our event! Here's what I have so far:

Here's a youtube video of my first session. Took it pretty easy for the most part as it was misting and seemed pretty slick.

Also I should have registration up for the october Nelson Ledges event in about a month or so. However, the next TRS event is at Putnam Park Road Course on September 9th. I will have more information on this event within the next week or so. I'm mailing the contract and deposit today!

I was struggling on the Carousel indeed. I never could figure it out. My exit speed was ~85mph at best there

I figured T1/2 to be a single corner so a later turn-in would benefit me...a light tap on the brakes and a little hint of trail-braking worked well there for me.

For T3 (what you called T2), I did notice that I could it much faster since I was tracking out at the inside of the track.

The kink is pretty dangerous when taken right. One time, I took it almost flat-out and I was banging off the 4th gear limiter (~120-125mph I think on my car). A lot of people were chickening out way more than I was there and I was catching them quickly by the time I had to brake for T12, which I think is the most fun corner

thanks Andy!

~how much would Putnam be?...........a coworker of mine orgasms whenever I utter the words Putnam Park to her...She had her 1st spin there at T10 (and didn t even hit the wall!) ....I too had my 1st spins at Putnam (T1, T7 and T9)
