Buckeye1647545503
Rumor I am seeing is Hot Rod mag is going to sponsor the events.
Got-Boost?
Depends on the event but someone usually sponsors some event. The first is usually Hot Rod mag, then the bike event was Super Street Bike and then later taken over by Throttle Nation, etc...
Farkas
Let me save you the trouble, 89.1mph. :dumb: I nearly ran 89mph in the 1/4mi when the car was basically stock, nice try :gabe:
coltboostin
Didnt we hear all about this 8 months ago? The whole ECTA team had been working on this for YEARS. Just got finalized! Sign a waiver then go lol Not going to happen. These Guys are SUPER strict on tech. If you want to go faster than 185, be prepared to spend some money. Draco-REX
Yep, it's finally going to happen! Sounds like FOUR events for 2012...... A link of the current site/rules but hopefully things change: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/ As most of you know, if they are rule nazi's like at Maxton they are going to eliminate more than half of the people that WANT to come race. We'll see what happens as more info is released. From the looks of things, a LOT of people are going to be humbled at the MILE! http://www.wnewsj.com/main.asp?SectionID=49&SubSectionID=156&ArticleID=192769&TM=31007.08 The forum for people to ask questions and stuff under ECTA: http://www.landracing.com/forum/ The site forum: http://wilmingtonmile.com/index.php I want to see the rules to decide if I want to do this, but you can't see the rules unless you're a member. So we need to shell out a membership fee to see if we even want to be a member? Lame. Luckilly someone posted the rules elsewhere. http://www.ecta-lsr.com/rules/carstreetcat.htm 4-point cage over 135, 6-point cage over 150. :dumb: Guess I won't be doing this. Cordell
Anyone know where there is a rule book posted for tech? or some basic guidelines? Is it similar to drag racing style tech? I'd really like to do this, but would like to know how feasable it is for me.

2pointslow
might just have to get a 2nd car, is a 4/6 pt cage the only tech rules over 135/150?

Patterson
I would need to swap to a 5 speed, but it would be interesting to see what the flying brick would do.
BradyPPC
Definitely cool. Im headed to Texas in October for the Texas mile with our 5.0. Gonna meet some friends down there and just have some fun for the weekend as well as see what the car will do. It is absolutely crazy how much prep there is involved to get a car ready to run that hard for that long. Not to mention the stress on the motor, iat temps on an fi car, ect temps, trans temps, rearend temps,etc.....It would be cool to have something like this in Ohio though. Im sure it would draw a lot of people.
Draco-REX
As for the rules, well they are there to keep people safe for a reason. I have no idea why you would want to go that fast without them? Because my car can do 154 from the factory which means it should have come with a 6-point cage? I'm not going to spend the money on a cage and rip up my interior for one event.

I'm not going to spend the money on a cage and rip up my interior for one event. Would you WANT to do 154 without a cage is the question. Me, fuck no! I saw a guy stuff an 8.90 car in the wall this weekend and walk away because of a cage. I agree on not wanting to rip up your interior for one event, that is something I would not do either. In my Subaru? Yes. The GD body shell has been proven to be very strong on many occasions. And really, it's my choice. Rules like this aren't about keeping drivers safe, it's about keeping the lawsuits to a minimum.
2highpsi
Would you WANT to do 154 without a cage is the question. I would run without a cage, no question. (if it were allowed) Driving a caged car on the street without a helmet is more dangerous than taking a car that (from the factory) does 150-160 for a run on a closed course IMHO. When Car and Driver, Motortrend, any magazine, or even the factory tests these cars for max speed they sure as hell are not putting cages in them for the test.
