just some quick research, but at the Maxton Mile events, 130 mph required cage, 175 parachute. I would imagine, the need for a full fire suit, complete car fire supression system, etc. The faster you go the more money you can expect to spend on safety equipment (I know, duh)

SRSLY...there goes 90% of CR participation.

It'll be a blast being able to open 'er up for more than just a few seconds.

I just hope there's a couple of miles of shut down. :D

Looks like there is 10,701 or 9,000 feet of runway depending on which one they use, could be 11,901 or 9,400 if the runoff area is used.

I don't know I have heard the rules are kind of lax. I would be building something that is closer to what you would see out in the salt flats.

I hope there aren't a ton of restrictions, the texas mile doesn't require all the safety gear.

I could do 130 in my truck with in a mile, and yes I have done it and removed the limiter. My Camaro should be over 160 with the potential to be much faster. How's this supposed to get people to come out when anyone with a quick street car can break those rules?

Yep, it's finally going to happen!

Sounds like FOUR events for 2012......

A link of the current site/rules but hopefully things change: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/

As most of you know, if they are rule nazi's like at Maxton they are going to eliminate more than half of the people that WANT to come race. We'll see what happens as more info is released.

From the looks of things, a LOT of people are going to be humbled at the MILE!
