jarvismb
hmmm, i never thought I'd hear of this again....my father is missing the top of his right thumb from this very thing. He was cleaning his chain with the motor 'helping out', and the rag got caught in the sprocket and took his hand for a ride. They didn't reattach fingers back then, but he actually regrew a decent amount of it back (which sounds crazy, but even the docs were impressed), and he has a decent excuse for a fingernail too.needless to say, I don't clean it this way, and I don't advise anyone doing the same....glad to see this guy got most of his fingers back, though. r6jess
dang. that was gross. this is one time im glad i didnt listen to my husband. i was cleaning my chain the hard way with diesel, a small brush and rag, he wanted me to turn the bike on and put it in gear. i looked at him and said why so my cloth can get stuck in my sprocket or my fingers get cut off. i never thought for a second that it was a good idea. lol

Paddy O Furniture
the whizzer?Well, not motorized, but they turn the chain ring whilst using a cloth to clean the chain and the chain ring bites of their finger(s); chain rings can get very sharp and are much thinner than MC chains.
