I almost went with one of those but went with a 'broom handle'/regular vertical instead and just mounted it further up on the barrel. EDIT: how much did that eotech run you? Ive been looking into them but 500$ seems steep, or maybe im just too cheap? I love the fore grip it's very functional and I feel like it's more accurate then a traditional vertical grip. I searched all over AR15.com for mine and I got mine BNIB for $380 shipped. There is a used 512 on there now for $315 you could probably get for $300 shipped. This x100 I've had zero training only reading, self practice, and ccw class. Anything would be useful. I am not even sure I know how to correctly hold the rifle. I can finally shoot somewhat okay with both eyes open while looking down the sights. Being left eye dominant and right handed seems difficult. I feel like I inhale gun smoke after every shot.
